I've got a 93 1.3 aav spi genesis which is currently fitted with a 1.8 golf throttle body (with the 1.3 injector)and GT cam. Its a nippy thing and is better than standard, but I used to have a 1990 1.3 NZ engine with the MPI setup on it, and even in standard form I seem to recall the NZ feeling pokier. Reading about, the MPI setup off a NZ coupled with a GT cam seems to provide good results, but woult there be any benefit over my current setup? I kept the NZ engine with all its MPI setup, coil, ecu, and ecu loom and intended to swap the inlet manifold etc across. Looking at the loo
Hello, I have an issue with the idle, i've got a 1.6 single point injection swap in my polo and the idle drops so low the whole dash rattles, but it isnt steady, it fluctuates, like it is trying to keep it up. When I hold my foot on the gas pedal lightly, there are no fluctuations in the engine rpm, drives and runs fine for what it is. Was thinking the 1.05-1.3liter SPI are pretty much the same engines, and maybe someone has encountered this issue. Could it be a vacuum leak?
Slowly breaking a 1.3SPI AAV white breadvan 1993. Let me know if you want anything. Dash fully stripped. Wings sold. Engine bare block sold. Door rotted out at bottom. Seats not good. Gearbox, ARB staying with me. Located Somerset TA19
I often use engine braking to descend a long downhill, I just got my exhaust all welded up from scratch, old one was full of holes. Now when I descend the same hill I hear pops and bangs which are pretty audible. They range in volume, but they aren't loud or violent. I know it's cool to some, but I do not think this is the way it is supposed to be. I got my timing set with a timing light, but we had to offset it slightly to the left of the factory timing mark (about 3mm on the crank) since on factory setting, the engine would run too slow. The engine is now v
Having some trouble starting my 1993 1.3 Spi AAV. Usually when it's cold it will turn over, fire and then cut out immediately. It usually does this a couple of times before starting up with a small splutter and then running absolutely fine. When the engine is warm it will fire up no problem, and general running is spot on. Now I first thought that the blue temp sensor was to blame, so changed this with a known good one, with no difference. I then bought a brand new sensor, with still no difference. I then had a 1.8 golf throttle body so decided to swap that with the 1.3 throttle body, keeping
