Hello, My MK2F gas tank is leaky and I'm in need for a fix. I found a parts car that I want several things from, but it's carbed. Is there any difference, as the online shops im looking at are offering two different options? And if there are, is it possible to overcome them?
Hello I have recently purchased a MK2 coupe with a afh, on CBR 600 carbs. It has a top fill radiator and it runs to close to the slam panel so much so the previous owner has cut out a section to house it. I'm looking to exchange this for a new rad with expansion tank. I'm not massively mechanical minded but if it's explained to me I'll be able to do it. (my thing is bodywork) My question is what parts will I need to fit an expansion tank and new rad and how. I know I'll need Expansion tank Rad Fan But I want to know specifics Thank you in advance
Hi, I am in the middle of trying to carry out a few repairs to my 94 mk2f coupe. My old fuel tank needed to be replaced due to rust and corrosion and I have encountered a few problems while fitting the new tank. I saw a diagram on here before the same as the one attached but it had a list of what each number means, can somebody please link me to this/post this below? Thanks for your help, Vinny
Since i bought my 6N 1.4 8v the expansion tank has been a pretty uniform shade of pink as if G12 has dried all around it, making it impossible to tell the level. I've never thought much of it as the engine seems to cool pretty well (never really goes over 80/90c even on 300 mile motorway trips) and I can see some coolant when i open the filler cap and look into the tank. What are your thoughts on this? Any way to clean the tank? Am i in trouble? Bought a bottle of G12 for some daft price a few months ago for this purpose but has since slipped my mind. Cheers!
Fitted a new tank, about three months after removing the old one, and losing the scribbled diagrams of where the pipes and connections go. I have a long, long, clear plastic pipe running down from the filler neck area, and can't for the life of me remember where it's supposed to go? Can't see any missing connections. Trying to get the vent pipe on in the falling snow was fun too - pour on boiling water, move the pipe 1mm along, then it gets cold and goes rock solid again...!
