Hello all. New to this site as didn't know it existed. I have an 05 plate Mark 4 1.2 Polo Twist that's just gone and shat itself. Seems the timing chain has jumped a tooth, or two, smacked the valves and is now toast. It's a great little car and would be a shame to break it as everything else is in really good condition so I'm investigating an engine swap. Wondering if anyone can tell me which year/model engines fit this one? Obviously want as low mileage as possible so presuming this would mean a later year engine so what's the latest year engine that fits this model? I'll be buying online so any advice on recommended suppliers and what to look for when searching would be a great help. Also if anyone has one for sale definitely interested in buying. Thanks for any help in advance. P.s. I'm in the Welsh borders.
Hi all, I’m new to the forum so forgive me if someone has already answered my questions. I have a 1984 Mk2 polo derby saloon with a 1litre 4 speed. I was wondering what newer engines or unusual engines may be able to fit into the small engine bay. I have barely any knowledge so I may sound very stupid but I was thinking about whether a Audi TT 1.8 APX non turbo engine would fit, or a 1.0 Ford Fiesta ecoboost engine as they’d be more economical than a 1.8. Cheers
Hi all so I need to remove the dash in my polo. It has what appear to be radio key holes on either side. I’ve inserted the keys but can’t get the damned thing to budge. Are there some additional screws? Many thanks rich
First post! Hi all, Wondering if the group could shed a little light on a problem I have on my 6N2. My handbrake has come loose from the chassis and has a magnificent amount of travel before it engages. Upon closer inspection it seems there should be a bolt securing the bottom bracket of the handbrake to the actual chassis...it ain't there! I've tried getting my fingers in there but it's rather tight and, even if I could manage, would it simply be a change of bolt? Anyone had this issue before and manage to fix it? Thanks in advance!
