Hi guys, trying to work out a big valve setup for my HH head but info is a little scattered and hard to find. On my search I've put together a quick spec sheet with part nr's and dimensions. There are a few gaps where i can't find reliable information so feel free to fill them in and let me know. All the info has been taken from part numbers from VAGCAT and early mk2 & mk2f haynes manuals, again if anything is wrong then let me know! I hoped to go down the pinto exhaust valve route for the inlet valve and try and find a slightly bigger valve for the exhaust, then read the early mk2 haynes manual and it states HH and HB valves are shorter, and so the pinto valves won't fit.. I'll have to measure mine tomorrow and update! Polo valve sizes: HH/HB valve sizes: Inlet valve - 34.00mm x 104.00mm x 7.97mm stem (036109601F) Exhaust valve - 29.10mm x 104.00mm x 7.95mm stem (052109611A) GL/HK/HA valve sizes: Inlet valve - 34.00mm x 110.5.00mm x 7.97mm stem (036109601F) Exhaust valve - 29.10mm x 110.5mm x 7.95mm stem (052109611A) Hydro head valve sizes: AAU inlet valve - 32.00mm x 99.300mm x 7.965mm until July 1992 - From August 1992 6.970mm stem diameter. Hi everyone, I have a 6n2 Polo (2000 facelift model) 1.4 16v 75bhp. I am pretty new to understanding 'modern' engines (more into the flat 4 aircooled) Now i know there is an EGR system, compromising of the main valve near the front of the engine on the passengers side. Mine has a round disc body with a single braided hose spout. (mine is now missing) This went to a plastic assembly mounted on the side of the engine block which i believe is the EGR valve Solenoid? Here is a pic of the assembly http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Pierburg-Valve-Egr-Exhaust-Control-for-Audi-Ford-Seat-VW-7-21483-54-0-/111242673119?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVW|Model%3APolo&hash=item19e6947bdf Now originally mine also had a small plastic round cap/sniffer? component on a small section of braided hose which 'hung' from the assembly on a plastic bracket. That has fallen off, and i think my mechanic blocked off the small hose section instead. I just CANNOT find this part (sniffer thingy) anywhere on the internet to buy! It is pictured in my Haynes manual ( 2B*9 pic 9.6 - visible under the spanner) Also does anyone have a diagram of where the hoses all should go for the system to be correct (as per when it left the forecourt). That would be splendid! Cheers guys, Pauly
