It is finally time to sell my polo due to wanting to finish another project. The car has an mot untill July 2020 and has just had new break pads & rear drivers side wheel bearing, since the last mot the car has only driven to the shop a couple of times & to Santa pod raceway the car ran fine all the way there apart from the choke had to be left on I suspect that one of the jets are blocked as I don,t use the car a lot I've not got round to doing a carb rebuild. The car is starting to show some signs of surface rust on the sills & arches and there is a patch on the bonnet that has peeled but has been patched up but apart from that the paint & body work is in very good condition for its age. I'm not too keen to sell to be honest so i wont take any stupid offers as I do like the car & will miss it, it's just I need the money for another project. £1500 ono.

    Lesley the 86 breadvan

TOPIC DESCRIPTION: Hey there polo enthusiasts, I'm Jonny and I am now the proud owner of a 1986 breadvan called Lesley! The only catch is that I've only just turned 16 so I can't drive her for another year but the aim is to get it looking and driving respectably by the time I can drive. Model: 1986 polo c breadvan (86c) Engine: 1.0l bog standard Suspension: Standard Brakes: Standard (very spongy!) Wheels and Tyres: Standard steelies and a set of mk2 golf steelies Exterior Styling: Oem roofrack which was an option on the car back in the 80s Interior Styling: Imaculate Standard interior ICE and Security: Very little of either apart from the oem tape deck and speakers Comments: It has 80000 miles on the clock and 3 previous owners (not bad for a 29 year old car). The engine is pretty good on the whole (apart from 2 breakdowns on the way down from Bristol to Falmouth but this turned out to be a loose ignition chord so all is well now) however the body needs some work, love and attention to get her to what I want it to be. Anyway here are some pictures of her: First I gave her a very good clean to see what I was working with Next I took off the font bumper the grill and I used back to black to restore the plastics Then I removed the bump strips Finally I bought a set of mk2 golf steel wheels for £40 off eBay The boot on breadvans are huge! I'm not sure if I'm actually going to put the golf wheels on the car or refurbish them then sell them on? Let me know what you think and what you think I should do to the car. Thanks for reading

    Mids meet Wednesday

Hi folks, the local VW club I am a member of is attending this meet next Wednesday on the 10th May and I will be attending in my 6N. It would be good for a group of Polo owners to meet up and drive down to this together. Where red would you like to meet and who can attend?
  5. Hi I have a 1989 polo breadvan lowered 60/40 and I was wondering if anyone knew the widest you can band the stock wheels without any rub?
  6. Just wondering would a bonnet from a 6n fit a 6n2?
  7. Hi All, So far so good with my ownership of the 5 speed 1.2l Petrol Turbo Polo, Picked it up from the dealer on Wednesday and done 300km so far. Was lucky to pick it up so quickly - close to impossible to locate one in any dealers here in Sydney and the wait is November at least. Had a productive day and the pics speak for themselves. Just need to have it lowered and will be the idea in my head completed for a nice tidy daily driver. For reference, the rims are 17x8 + 35 with 205/40/17. Let me know what you think!
