Polo 1.9 TDI Remap, Does anything need changing when complete>

Recommended Posts

I have been pondering a while about getting my VW Polo 1.9 TDI 2003 remapped to 130 bhp (same as Polo 1.9 TDI GT) I was wandering though if there is any technical or part differences in brakes, gear box or clutch etc for the increased power as I dont want to destroy my Polo! I appreciate any help what so ever! Thanks for your time!

Think lots of places recommend up rating the clutch and flywheel that way you can get the most out of the map and not burn your clutch out. Possibly get a single mass flywheel as well instead of the normal dual mass (costs a fair but but at least you won't waste money on gaining power and not being able to use it)

Hello, this is a very loved VW Polo Breadvan.
Owned by my Aunt from new till her death last year, garaged and loved, she drove it up until 2016 when the keys were removed as she was then 95 and we felt it was time to stop driving.   The car was SORN for a year in 2016 until we got it MOT'd on 7/9/17, it passed with only a bulb needing to be replaced. It was picked up from her garage by the mechanics and just needed jumpstarting. No advisories.   A new battery was put on then and in January 2018 a new clutch fitted.   I have been using it since then and although no power steering etc it is a joy to drive, only selling because my Hubby doesn't like driving a manual so if his car is out of action he hates driving it.   It has some rust just under the windscreen on passenger side, which we have rubbed down and treated with Hammerite just to stop it getting any worse., see pics.   Tyre's are all good, interior excellent, original mats and original key and a spare.   Starts first time, even after sitting for a few days, radio works, haven't tried cassette player. It has inside wing mirror movers on the doors. The paint work hasn't faded and still looks a lovely red.   Faults: back windscreen wiper and heated window do not work, could be a fuse we haven't checked. offside front ball bearing needs either greasing or replacing, just a bit noisy when driving.   Body work a few marks and a bit of rust but nothing big.   No history/paperwork  etc as it was taken from her house by a relative and we cannot get it back, but she has been serviced regularly and any work needed doing has been done when needed.   Pics on ebay advert

For sale: Volkswagen Polo GT TDI 130   A rare model Polo which is a great all round small car which has never let us down on many long journeys. Sad to see this little one go but we are looking for £1500. This car is power to weight an incredible performer and just eats motorway miles, but is agile round the city and economical both ways, lowered by 15mm on sports suspension it has next to no body roll on cornering. This PD engine runs really smooth and the turbo whistles beautifully, I've seen these engines hit over 300,000 miles no problem.    The drivers seat needs attention as the fabric has worn where the bucket wraps round, just wear and tear from getting in and out and there is a small supermarket door ding in the passenger door, apart from that everything is good. Some signs of age obviously. I'm aware its a short MOT, but not selling for that reason. You can see there isn't anything wrong mechanically, its never failed and MOT and won't next time. Viewings welcome, I'll take you for a drive in it. Make your own mind up.   *I have some more photos to upload and just working with Club Polo support team to get those on. Its had a large amount of time and effort put into it; its probably had £1500 spent on it in the last year alone. Apart from the stereo upgrade as described below, I've kept the car completely factory (vanilla). Any replaced parts are VW. But I always thought it would look good with 2 rally lights either side of the reg plate, and two back stripes up the middle. Maybe its time for a revamp...   The wheels as factory fit are 16" Montreal 2 found on the Mk4 Golf V5 and GTI, as the engine was used in Golf and Passat variants amongst others (Audi etc), in fact the majority of the workings of this Polo come from Golf and I have found over the years this adds greatly to the quality of those premium parts over standard Polo parts. The wheels, suspension, gearbox, engine, transmission, turbo, speaker system, seats are all Golf and it shows.    Specifications: Power: 130 bhp

      Polo 2001 S 1.4 16v AUA
Spares & Repairs due to cracked head.
MOT until 22 August 2018, no advisories, currently taxed and insured.
      855417 miles
      Buyer must arrange collection.
I have owned  this car for just over 6 years, it has always been a reliable car, starts first time every time and it still does. Sadly the head cracked on the 05/04/18 and I don't have the time to replace it. It seems a shame to scrap or break. It is a CAT D, the damage was to the passenger side wing and light, this was replaced prior to my purchase.
New air filter and clutch cable 1 week before it cracked
Tires are less than a year old done less than 2000 miles
Brakes, both pads and discs replaced on all wheels a year and a half ago
New front headlights just over a year ago
      Gearbox seems sound, no whine
      Tow bar with full electrics
Cracked head from where the oil sensor is seated
Front passenger lock broken due to break in
Slight scraping to the rear passenger door
      Sold as seen.
