hey, I have been on ClubPolo for a while now and and been driving polos since I first passed my test. after doing a few mods on my first car I decided to move on to something with a bit more power. As I plan to make some big changes to to my car I thought I would start a build thread for it to keep track of my progress.

This is the car when I bought it. its a pd100 1.9tdi, drove to newcastle from my hometown of leicester to get this. Needed a few bits of work but the price was worth it.

first upgrade I had to do was get rid of the RCD200 headunit as it has no aux cable, after having a look round I found this AppRadio2 online for a good price. easy to fit plus as it has a HDMI cable I could run an xbox through it as well. but in day to day life its really good if you have an iphone and has satnav and internet browsers and all kinds of extras.

Love the colour, looking forward to seeing the progress!

Is the head unit worth the money? I was looking at the same one a while ago but I decided against it for the time being

cheers man, have a few more posts to do to catch up to where it is now.

the head unit is good if you run an iphone, you can use android with it but I have no experience with it. For an iphone its great, lots of apps and satnav and other extras, you can browse youtube and deezer and stuff like that. basically anything you can do with an iphone you can do through the touchscreen. i paid £160 for mine posted and it was worth every penny.

managed to find a cheap PD160 intake on ebay so went for it. compared to a standard its a tighter fit through the engine bay. now there is more turbo noise and more intake noise. plus will help later on with more power. I fitted this along side a pipecross panel filter

refitted the sub set up from my old car. fitted perfectly as expected. fully sunken sub with the amp poorly mounted on the side as my nice one which was tucked away on the left of the boot melted a bit. on the right side of the boot is a compartment for the jack and tyre iron and any other crap I need.

still fitted the spare wheel in with the sub and as its a sealed unit the bass is really good, even if it is bassy from outside the car.

finally fitted coilovers and gave it a little bit of drop. going down further soon but didn't want to go all the way down straight away. took it for a little drive through the country side to try it out.

lowered it a bit more today, as low as it can go with the tyres I currently have, either going down to 165/40R16 or a new set of alloys, depending on if the tyres are finished before i can afford new allows.

while I was changing stuff around I tried on my friends 18" R32 alloys, it was a snug fit at best
