The only option for the 6N1 headlights was the adjustable beam range setting from inside the car, they have a 7 pin connector , no difference for a 1.0l or 1.4 16v headlights https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/1998-158/9/941-941030/

im trying to match brands as im buying new. i found a prasco left handside light from UK.

and a right hand side light from germany

the german ones say it's for left hand drive only, why would that matter?

i checked the cables and the the connectors are identical on either end? one for head light and one for indicator , one for fog

so can't see how it wouldn't work?

Lhd ones and rhd ones point the beam away from oncoming traffic

Thats why when you take a rhd car to europe you have to put stickers in the beam pattern so you dont dazzle people

A LHD headlight has the light beam cutoff for driving on the other side of the road so it would be an MOT fail as you can't adjust the beam cutoff
