right id like to know what number has superceded the g40 bosch alternator original number 030 903 023...i think i know what it is but I'm not revealing yet until someone confirms for me. thanks very much in advance.

I'm registered with vagcat too and this is where my problem lies...i need the number the number i provided supercedes which should show on a proper copy of etka...thanks again.

I've ordered one based on the number that supercedes the original 030 number but i want someone to double check for me what number they are getting. its one of the ones yeti provided. just need someone to confirm it.

B-e-a-utiful! thats the one!! 030 903 023 is the original number and vw superseded it with 068 903 017 MX and this is the number i used to order the new one from a company who goes direct to bosch. I've had to pay them an extra 15 to get it sent to them though as its special order. vw can still get the alternator for you despite people saying they are obsolete...they're not...the original 030 903 023 has simply been replaced. vw wanted 145 quid plus vat (circa 160)...where i got it...considerably less....

fingers crossed it all goes well as i cant send a special order back...eeek!
