I loved that car and never should have sold it.

Lee

I love it too Lee. If you had any idea how much I've been fucked about, and how hard I tried to just get it finished you'd understand why I've lost heart with the whole idea of Polos and G40's. Apart from it rotting away in the hands of Pitstop and it never being finished after 3 years of bullshit, it's been treated like gold by me, unlike the guy who bought it off you. Oh and Steve of Pitstop has stolen the original Lader off me for it too. idiot.

Oh and if you remember my e-mails to you when I first got the car, you were absolutely correct. Lesson learned.

Edited by EeekiE

I knew in the end I would be proved right about prickstop. It was painful for me to see my car mistreated by them and to see you get taken for a ride in the process.

giorgio has the same problem after a "PSD" emerald remap - not working very well

such a shame really - it really is, gotta dig deep into the soul to find heart in a project which is sooo long in the making. I've just got renewed heart in mine and it will be finished BUT by god I've thought long and hard about selling it on.

You sure you want to do this? - gunna be hard seeing someone else driving your hard earned money pit.

fortunately i relied very little on steve to do anything, still haven't got a simple bloody pulley rings 18months after buying pulleys.

hope you get what you want for the car dood - i really do

how much take it now...

youngprodigys, me and giorgio aren't the only ones. I'm not going to mention names but one guy took his Polo in with an LSD, and Steve 'forgot' the LSD needed different length driveshaft bolts. So when he put it back together he tore apart this guys gearbox, and out of the kindness of his heart, told him where he could pay to get it repaired. 6 months later, and the last I heard, the place it was recommended it go to be repaired still hasn't fixed it. I thought I'd got off lightly till my G40 charger was stolen from me.

I took the car down for Eaton conversion, the charger was removed from my car, and was then MODIFIED without my permission to accept a different scroll oil seal and then never returned to me.

In late 2007 I took it down to finish the half ass Eaton conversion (still on green injectors and shit map), and wanted a Emerald ECU put on in time for a Le Mans trip with the car, as I really wanted it just finished and wanted to enjoy it on a tour. I told him a few times I wanted it a month before I went to get it resprayed. That deadline passed, and ONE AND A HALF WEEKS before I was due to leave for Le Mans, I get a call saying do I instead want to go to Le Mans on Digifant because he hadn't started the Emerald install yet, and then bring it back down after the trip to be done?!!!? What so it can sit there rotting away for another year... I decline and he then starts installing the Emerald ECU, and an Innovate LC-1 that I bought and paid for somewhere mid 2007. I go to pick it up on the night before I'm due to go to Le Mans IIRC, to find yet ANOTHER half ass unfinished job.

I get there and he hands me two spade connectors joined by some wire. It's so I can open the bonnet and turn the fucking coolant fan on before I go on a journey as the Emerald fan trigger hadn't been wired up yet, although all the wiring was there ready for it? Also the Innovate LC-1 is fucked.

Get it home with hours before needing to leave for ferry, head in a complete mess, the whole buzz of the trip completely boned, only to find the Emerald ECU is fucked on the pin out for fan control. We call up Emerald themselves and they talk us through wiring up a different aux pin out to trigger the fan. Well my big brother did actually because he's a fucking dependable kind of guy, all while he should be getting his shit ready for Le Mans trip, and then 10 minutes before we need to go we get it working. Without revgauge, or lambda sensor. I drive it back over to my house from my brothers and it just starts to lose power and kangaroos all the way there. Out of desperation we change the second hand rock hard leads Steve had sold me for £35 for some new ones and head off to France, it gets about a 10th of a mile, just shy of Danny Lees house before keeling over again and I'm actually that pissed off and hysterical, after 3 years of giving the car ALLLLLLLLL the fucking time and finances in the world, I'm on the verge of tears and bursting out with laughter. Weirdest feeling of my life. The car gets rolled back onto my drive by my dad and I hitch a ride with Dan and rush to catch a ferry.

After 2 years of all my friends and family telling me to give up on the car, and give up with PSD, I give up with PSD and vow to sort the car out. It just needs a fresh pair of eyes and I was planning on taking it to a Skyline specialists next to where I work who were confident they could iron out the electrical gremlins. Steve demands payment for his half-assed Emerald install. I say not until he returns my charger, he says the charger is boxed up and ready to be sent as soon as he gets the money. I send him the money just to draw a line under PSD and to finally get the car sorted, he doesn't send the charger. He probably never even HAD the charger. Probably sold it to someone else or lost it. I've since been told through someone else speaking to him about it that "all dealing with me and Scott are done now".

This is the final straw, this is why I've lost heart with it, this is why I'm now giving up and listening to my friends and family, and this is my reason for sale.

If you've got the time and patience to put it together properly, you will have a car that will put a permanent grin on your face. I've just actually lost heart with it as I hope you can appreciate. What I've outlined here, unfortunately isn't even half of the story. The Eaton conversion days are even more depressing.

I'd love nothing more now than for someone to buy the lot and enjoy it. It would make an awesome track car or hill-climb project, or even a mental road car. I could make more money breaking it, but a part of me wants it to be finished and it would be even more heartbreaking to rip it all apart. I also need the space on my drive and couldn't stomach being left with an empty husk that needed to be crushed.

my heart goes out to you mate,

Its a shit story it really is. I'm so angry thats its a LOAD of people who seem to have been messed about, the only reason i had dealings with PSD was through peoples recommendations on here......it wasnt long before i had decided i wanted to sort the whole of my car myself.

my map is just a G-werks map for the spec - i hope to get it remapped properly when its all rolling - but wont be going emerald until someone has got one working A+.

Sickener - you should just get the thing running on the standard stuff before you sell it - you will get more money that way!!!! (running car) + (emerald setup) seperate. a rolling car will net you more cash!

i can help you do it if you need me - i only live in bedworth and I'm pretty shit hot on the old wiring (G40 + TT dash) as my evidence.

Good luck with the sale mate

Interesting about steve keeping the charger.

Before they started slagging me and Racepower off, Liam was a regular visitor to Racepower on a saturday. Keith from racepower ported my charger and Liam could not believe what he did. The work was infinitely superior to what him and steve were doing. And he knew it. now I find steve has kept it.

In the next few years Andy Boakes did lots of research and development of charger porting and improved on keiths work. Even Brian @ Jabba accepted Andy's work was the best and andy ported a few super duper chargers for them.

For his aborted Race project Paul Cauldwell took lots of advice from Andy and Kieth and then spent and incredible amount of time porting, hand filing and emory clothing his charger. It looked amazing when he had finshed.

Guess what, Steve tried to keep that as well. Until me and paul did a bit of chicanery to get it back.

Hmmm

Very odd

what kind of price are you looking for it? I'm looking for a winter '40 ;)

looks some good kit there , really gutted for you mate , i had lots of problems with psd just before they shut down to cost me a charger and 500 quid , at the time i couldn't understand as i was getting recommended left right and center to go there so that was my first and last dealings with them.

My charger went in for rebuild to come out lasting less than 100 miles before the top bearing came out through the scroll and outlet casing as you can imagine no refund etc only well... ''i can fix at discount if you get the bits'' lol claims pulley was loose causing it? and as you will no i wasn't the case.

shame you have been let down so many times and no so disheartened you selling but i can fully understand , good luck with the sale.

Jake

pitstop devlopments

i borught a samco hoze kit form steve onley to find that 1 of the pipes were 2 short foned up steve said he would send a new 1 ........... month later still nonething i phone again he says yea its here in a box i haven't posted it yet ..........

about 3months later and loads of fonecalls and emails it arrived a lot of hassle tho y couldent it have arrived the right lenth in the first plase with the rest of the kit

you'll get alot more if you break it mate not that i like to see a G die but there is a few bits id like!

Eeekie, sorry to hear bout all the shit you've had with Steve, but you defo aint the only one.... my complete engine and charger went to him in October 2004 after I melted a piston. A fairly substantial some of money was paid to him for the work to be done.... and guess what.... I have still never received fuck all!

So not only am I out of pocket for the money, my g40 has also been sitting for 4 years without a engine!

PSD were once a reputable company, when Liam was involved, this was when I first went to them, but it looks like Liam got out before he was made to look like the dick that Steve does now!

I've been emailing / texting and calling constantly for a long time now, and have as yet got nowhere.

One way or another I will be getting back what is owed to me! Just depends what lengths I need to go to get it back!

Eeekie, PM with you!

Didnt want to get involved but Steve is quite simply a c u n t. Even worse than ripping of customers he has also screwed over so called mates.

If anybody is local I know where he used to have a 'secret' workshop, might be an idea to see if he still uses it.

I paid him for a full emerald remap. I got a rich as anything map that wont hold cold idle. Not wanting to drag others into the situation but he is still about rebuilding chargers

Replace the words 'nice person' with cunt!

Can't believe what I'm hearing thought they had a really good reputation untill i ordered a hosekit and it took him 3 months to deliver it. Guy hasn't got a clue about customer service.

one guy took his Polo in with an LSD, and Steve 'forgot' the LSD needed different length driveshaft bolts. So when he put it back together he tore apart this guys gearbox, and out of the kindness of his heart, told him where he could pay to get it repaired. 6 months later, and the last I heard, the place it was recommended it go to be repaired still hasn't fixed it.

That would be me, just like to say that it wasn't quite like that, I'm not taking sides here but my gearbox is in my possession, all repaired and the LSD is living happily in a mates car....

I know some of you have issues but I would like to be kept out of it please.

Gadge, so you're a victim of theft too. From what I remember from all the horror stories we're not the only two either. However, "revenge is a dish best served cold", and that's all I'm saying in public.

Max, when you told me about the gearbox problem you indicated to me that you did not have it back, and you haven't since said you've had it back. I didn't bring you into it, it was an anonymous scenario I mentioned, I have the MSN log available if needs be but I don't think I've misrepresented what I've said from memory. On reflection after digging deeper it isn't even the worst thing that's been done. Not by a long way.

I agree about the Liam days. When it first went in it had top-notch service. As it did the second time when it had the intercooler fitted. This is why I went back for the Eaton conversion. The reputation and praise they got up to this point seemed justified from my own experiences. Then there was the 2 year half Eaton install, which in reality the Emerald job was the second half of.

I just can't believe no-one else came out with their own bad experiences till I started venting. Surely this should be one of the fundamental benefits of a car club? Instead I seem to have received private 'between you and me you're not the only one' type message from way too many people only AFTER I start telling people how I'm being messed around. Up until then I just assumed he was taking the piss with me alone because the PSD reputation still seemed to be strong here.

Also a word of advice, if he's acting like a buddy with you, that's only so he can take advantage of you socially to take the piss. He treats you like a pal when he's left your car rotting for months even years on end, but just see what happens if you hold payment for a WEEK. It's a friend relationship when the balls in his court and a business relationship when it's in yours. He is a cunt.

Rather than replying to same thing to multiple people, the eBay reserve is at 2000. Because if it goes for less than that I really should pull my finger out and break it. I'm going to let the auction run it's course, and it looks like it should be sold on Saturday for however much it goes for. You're welcome to pop over and try any kind of test or diagnostic. If you're technical minded and want to spend a few hours on my driveway seeing if you can get it started on Emerald before considering buying it, or if you want to put it back on the Digifant mangement for the same reason without being tied in to buying it you're obviously more than welcome.

There's also a guy on eBay asking to buy the Ally Cats separately so you should be able to sell these straight off if you don't want them for a few hundred off the bat. Two of them have done a maximum of 1000 miles on the REAR of my Polo. The other two have been hand rolled around my bedroom and still have most of the tyre spikes still on them. They also have good condition ORIGINAL centre caps (black and gold propper cool things). The tyres are actually Pirrelli P6000's.

I've also found some smoked front headlamps in my wardrobe that a friend gave me. Oh and some spare doors round the shed that I forgot I had.

Also it has TAX and MOT so if you do get it going and are feeling brave, you could drive it home rather than towing as the eBay advert states.

My Youtube account has videos of this car in action as well. Be warned, some of them are excessively cheesy.

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=JeefCa...amp;view=videos

The Aquamist video is from when I first had it, before it went to be set up correctly by my first, and successful PSD visit.

EDIT: Vids are-

Initial G - Phone tapped to bumper down some lanes. So much fun.

If Phones Could Talk - Best summed up as me and Danny Lee being a bit weird. But this is me getting car back after 2 years and it scaring and thrilling the bum-chocolate out of me. Even when I was alone I'd swear out loud hehe.

Slamed Schnitzer - Cheesy tribute, you can see the bodywork in this video.

Oh and if you do end up with this car, consider the stolen G40 charger morally and legally yours to pursue. It was a full blend on 65mm toothed pulley.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the dashboard is currently off when my brother was checking the loom inside. It was held in by three bolts through the bulk-head, and some screws internally. If this is a problem we can put it back in for you.

Also I think eBay is the simplest easiest most painless way for me to handle this, so if you do have an offer, go through that medium. I really am trying to be as honest and clear as I can about this car. If there's any slightest detail you want to know to save a trip, then please ask. With this in mind, it's obviously fully recommended you come and see the vehicle before placing an offer, because it would be unfair to other people to place an offer of XXXX to beat someone on eBay, then in person try to knock XXX off when the person you beat on eBay came and saw the car and came up with what he/she was a reasonable amount.

SO PLEASE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE: VIEW AND CHECK BEFORE YOU BID TO KEEP IT FAIR, as I really would like the drivespace back for this weekend so I can swap the rear pads on my Mazda on the flat part of the drive. Rather this than be messed about and have to relist it.

So any questions, any high res photos of a certain area, any video demonstrations of me poking something or bending things to test how they bend or whatever, let me know. After going from Derby to Surrey to look at a Mazda that was in "showroom condition", but had paint runs, overspray and superglue sealing the rear window; and after being fucked over by PSD, I'd like to be the one guy in the history of mankind that's completely upfront.

Edited by EeekiE

I know its nowt to do with me, but you would probably make nearer 3k splitting it! If I had any money I'd have loads off you! I need a LC1 hmm..

wna sell the alleycats seperate? and aload of the other bits lol!?

I'd like to be the one guy in the history of mankind that's completely upfront.

Fair play to that mate, you've certainly had a rough ride. I'm after a used car at the minute and it's a minefield!

Do you have an idea of what the problem is with the engine? [...] want to know how much work it needs to get it running right.

I think it's something relating to the Emerald ECU and ignition. When it was running a few months ago it would drive sweet as a nut for about 10 minutes, then start to go funny. If I messed with any of the ignition components (literally wiggling about or disconnecting/reconnecting) and fired it back up again, it would run fine for another 10 minutes.

I then left it for a few weeks and the battery had gone dead, got a new battery and it would turn over but not fire up. I then thought FUCK IT and bought a Mazda and put the G40 on eBay. It might work fine with the Digifant ECU plugged back in but I wouldn't know where to start. If you want to come and try and get it working on my drive without any commitment you're more than welcome to.
