I replied to a post peedubstyling had put up:

I need both wing mirrors for my car (bloody narrow driveway + too much haste = no wing mirror!!)

guy got back to me, discussed a price and that was that. Took him ages to get back as to how he wanted paid (from sunday to friday). He finally did with a paypal account (stated on the thread after this to another user that he has no paypal), i transferred the cash on saturday and pm'd him to let him know.

Got back to me on the Monday saying it was posted (29th). Didn't know when it would be here nor was there a tracking number (sent with DHL).

Pm'd him on Monday 5th as I still hadn't recieved it. Never got back to me til today when i posted up on the thread asking about it. He claimed he never got the PM even though it's in my outbox. He cancelled the courier as i was 'moaning' and called me a liar. Says he'll give me a refund.

I have all the evidence to prove all of this. Is this not a bit steep, as having paid all I want to know is where the suff is.

Just letting anyone else know incase they fall into the same thing and has anyone else experienced anything else of the sort?

Sadly there's a lot of it going round pretty much all the car sites on t'internet at the minute, and there's not a lot we as site staff can do until after it's happened.

Personally, I'll only buy stuff on here either:

In person

Off someone I know/friends know personally

Off someone who's been around a good long while (and not who's just posted a couple of dozen pointless posts or repeated adverts to make themselves look "established").

If you can't get a verifiable address, think very carefully. If I'm selling anything on here, it's listed for post or collection and I'll gladly provide both my home and workshop addresses to any prospective buyer.

If you paid by paypal then put a claim in. you should be able to get you money back that way. If you do a google on his user name you will find that your situation is mirrored across a few sites.

Dknight is a top private detective from what iv seen before (thanks again).

And I have been scammed on here, paid through paypal aswell, just claim your money back through there. If you have any trouble then PM me and il offer a helping hand if you want. Mine took a week or two to get the money back though so you arent going to get it straight away.

i fucking hate these people, couple of years ago you could sell + buy things on here in good faith. shame there are a few idiots that spoil it for the majority... i guess it applies to the rest of society too, not just the club.

That person was new to the forum only joining in november of 2008, all thier posts and topics were regarding selling items and not once provided any pics of anything he was selling.

The first post he put up even said he was a panel beater starting up his own business.

I personally wouldnt trust him, unless id phoned him and spoken to him and preferebly got the name of the garage he worked at and rang him through there just to confirm. But alas you live and learn.

As said before if you paid through paypal claim through there are your first course of action and send your details to dknight as he will sniff the guy out

I would try ringing him off another phone and if he dont answer then leave a voice mail threatening to go to the police with the details you got off him

should come up as a small pic and an option to send a message and add him as a friend....

send him a message on there, if you've managed to find him on facebook then he may realize it's a bit more serious than just on a forum....

quite a bit of it happening on here recently,,and as said not much can be done,,however a didgy seller isnt normally that hard to find,,have a look throught the wanted sections and they are normally the ones whos visited everyone but has no topics or postes,,,normally only just joined too and regularly using private messanger,,i was gonna buy a single wiper from peedub styling but hes been pretty backwards in coming forwards with details on it.

suppose il only buy from well known members :( shame as I've lost faith in the site now (some of the people anyway). but if anyone looks at my sale thread yes i am legit many happy people before and it wont change :p

bloody hell just checked peedubstyling out on google,,think ill be giving the wiper a wide birth lol.
