Project Choon

Featured Replies

Bought off DKnight.

Had a good look arouond, needs a bit of work (sill required, but that's OK!), to get up to scratch, and de-fuming inside, it's a bit fusty!

39000 miles, ready for whatever I'll throw at it in the (maybe) forseeable future.

Couple of pics to begin at monster truck level...

thats immense, i'd forgotten what a standard polo's ride height looked like

haha scott, thought it was this one when you were talking about it in sunday. I'm happy to lend a hand if your supplying the brews....

Absolutely Sam, brews are a permanent fixture in the Mitchell household.

A damn good clean is first, you fancy getting (really) dirty, and don't mind the smell of a musty interior.

Anyone know the whereabouts of a steam cleaner for the purposes of borrowing?

Jet-wash being supplied by the neighbours.

aye i may do, i think my mate has one back home. just give me a bell if you what a hand

Hope its going to get the same smacking with the lowering stick 8-)

Absolutely!

About the same I think, any lower causes it not to be a family car any more, which the Silver one is at the mo.

wwwhhhhhhhattttttt! :?: come on scott... one for show, the other for the go

basically kep the silver as the family mobile and the choon for munching tarmac!

I think saloons suit that kind of stance. Specially with a bit of rake on the back.

Silver is staying as is........for now................

Choon, nice choice of words there fella, is still in the unknown stage of reckoning, need them both to be able to cart the nippers around though!

aye, one in each!

Get some autoglym Interior cleaner on it. Had some GT seats you could have had last week before i chucked them out.

Defo needs slammed though. Want an exhaust?

thats "lol", look at the hieght difference lol, look after it dude!! (btw is the silver loon, randombadger's old one??)

epic aerials FTW.

potential potential potential.

The silver one always a favourite.

Loons are so cool. Mars red one will look ace when slammed. My old fella used to have one that colour years ago.

I have a slightly musty mk3 GT dark interior you can have if you want, literally a quick going over with some interior cleaner and it will be perfect... Not after much for it either, PM me if you fancy it.

Cheers for the offers, guys, shows this forum does have a good side, as I found out when I did my GT conversion!

Stef - If you can keep hold of the exhaust, I'll have a look at it some point, i put my finger through the back-box!

OilyFingers - I don't think it's randombadger's old one, it came from close to town.

Skatty - As for the GT interior, I'm not sure, I might get hold of some Corrado fronts and re-trim the lot, maybe get them leathered, to go with the leather-look vinyl door cards. Do mk3 GT seats go straight in the mk2, and do they sit low and offer some side support?

mk3 seats do go in mk2s mk2 golf ones fit also but i think if you want low ones ie. lower than polo seats then either rocco or rado seats are a nice fit.

i have rocco GT11 seats in my mk2 square bucket style comfy and nice and low aswell. hop that helps

Oh how low is your silver loon looks like maybe -90 drop perhaps.

funny how high the red one looks like a 4by4 at the min never have too many mk2s though all good.

Aerials are ace, but for a bit last year, I had the old 'metal coat-hanger' aerial. it worked as well if not better than any I've had! ('Till it fell off on the M6).

i was going to get this :/ i spoke to DK and he had just sold it! GUTTED!

Nah come on now, you're cheating us in those pics! :-p The red one has obviously just been lowered back on the ground, you can tell by the positive camber and the nose up stance. Combined with the bigger rolling radius of the P slots you've just fitted it looks like its almost doing a wheelie! Rolled forward on its original wheels/tyres and it wouldn't be half as bad.

Standard ride height may be nasty, but it ain't that bad!

Nice one for taking it on as a project though.

The games up!

Yeah, had just put it on the P-slots, the originals were fooked, and the tyres un-round! Plus it means they aren't taking up space in the garage!

Not even had a chance to clean it yet with all the snow since Sunday. Looking forward to stripping it back and seeing what lies underneath, and how much cutting out and letting in of steel is required.

Had it out for the 1st time today, quick once-over with the Jet-wash, dry with rags, and a quick de-gunk in the engine bay. Removed the mats and 'funky' carpets (smell, not look). Needs a steam clean inside, has 15 yeas of smell festering in there at the moment.

Anyway couple of piccys, sorry about the quality, going dark and using my phone.

Engine Bay - a beast of a 1.05, that I haven't bothered even looking at yet...

Photo178.jpg

Boot - nice and clean under the mat...

Gorgeous Vinyl door cards, I NEED some black leather Corrado / Golf seats to match methinks....answers on a postcard...
