Down 60/40 with rear adjustable shocks (Philly J ones)

Am thinking 13x8 at the rear and 13x7 up front.

What sort of offsets am I after and which tyre sizes are best? Not after some stupid stretch but a smart looking fit will do

Depends on the tyre dude, some give a better stretch than others...

On a 7J for example Yoko A539s have hardly any stretch, but on an 8 I would imagine they do.

Tbh I'm not a fan of A539s anyway, Bridgestone Potenzas are the shit, good stretch and great all round performance, shame they dont make them in 175 50s anymore! (That i know of).

I haven't experienced any other tyres but there arent too many availble in this size, so I'm sure everyone on here has tried them in one way or another....

Offset wise, mine are ET20 and are perfect at the front, but at the back they could do with being ET10 or 15 really if you want them to look wider.

I'm fairly sure they never made them in ET28!?!!

If you're going for black and silver ones, you can go for 7 et20 up front and 8 et? at the back... My old 8x13 ET1 were a bit much to be honest.

Be warned - they DO look like different wheels because of the way the spokes kinda bowl out into the dish on the 8s compared to the 7s. This is far more noticeable on silver classics.

As max said.. space em out at the back. I personally really love 7s on a polo. 8s just look TOO girthy to me personally. a 20mm spacer on the back would PIMP. Perfect IMO.

You saw mine running et5 at the back. It isn't quite enough...

Be prepared for some scrubbage though mate!

To some up, I reckon go for 7s and spacers with 175/50 dunlops or bridgestones.

Is this correct or is it a typo cause 8s are far to wide for the front of a Polo and the rear arches engulve the wheels more than the front anyway so it will look a bit spazed up.

Yep..7's at the front with a higher ET

8's on the rear with smaller ET.........that would look pimp!

My steffans were ET24 on the front, ET15 on the rear, Give much better look IMO, even with Classics..

If you're really lucky and actually find a pair or set, you can also get them in 7x13 ET03, but they are only the old ones, and very very rare.

The old ones also came in 8x13 ET00 which is what my blue ones are.

I think 8s on the rear work better on saloons than they do on coupes. dunno why.

just got me a set of original manta ats classics and they are only 6j still they should still look nice once they are polished and painted up! any idea what offset they will be?cos it wasnt listed in the advert
