When I pulled off my bump stips it pulled away old body filler and paint.

Yeah in the light you can see a differance , needs to be blended in.

looks good what paint and primers did you use ? spray gun or rattle can? looks good if it is out of a spray can

All halfords stuff, gray primer, satin silver paint. rattle cans, thx lol

My log book says the colour is satin silver, but theres a blue tint to the paint, I know my car has been resprayed b4, I think they may have done it diamond silver, does that have a blueish tint to it?

Satin silver should have a blueish tint to it

looks a fair job, wouldnt have sprayed so high up and i would have probably filled that dent too. was it your 1st attempt and bodywork? if so i bet you are pretty chuffed. make sure you leave it a good few days before cutting it in with the original paint

you shouldve kept the repair area as small as possible , didnt look like it needed filling , just a sanding down

then keep the primer area small ...that way you dont have to colour the whole panel and risk bad matching

yeah there is a slight dent there which i will fill, i sprayed so high up because there was rust around the window around the seal so i put some Krust (rust eater) on that and when i primered it i though might as well join it in because there was some chips where some EEEEEidiot!! use thos stupid touch up things on it, i filled them in and all that jazz ....and yeah its laquared....soz trying to answer all quesions at once lol, thx for the comments and advice

But yeah I am currently teaching my self to spray, which I hope to do after my mechanics course...but we'll see.

Its not a bad job considering you have done it outside. I do quite a bit of body repair work for myself and it can be hard work sometimes.

The colour is a mile off I'm affraid, you shoud get your paint from proper car paint suppliers. Take your fuel cap with you and leave it with them for them to match it up correctly, you can also get there paints in aerosols too you know.

These guys are much better at mixing paints than Halfords as they have been doing it for years.

Good job this is just the begining next thing you know you will end up doing more and more.

I really want to get into it, i do some spraying for friends, like interia and little bits, I have a garage but its been cut in half and made into another room , and its full with shit so Can't do it in there.

What I really need is a compressor, and spray it propally.

Around in luton we have a place called euro colour, i have been told its good, but never been. I'll try there next time.

I will do that once i get paied, there are a few more dent and bits that needs to be sprayed around the car, so I will be adding over the next few months.

i sprayed my wheels at the weekend satin black, i know i only used satin so i couldnt go wrong but the feeling is very satisfying once its done, so you must be well chuffed seeing as your job has been much harder & on body work aswel!

another dent on the off side front door panel, luckly next to some bubbling paint and rust, so got rid of that as well.

I don't think the halfords paint is up to the standard I want...

I might buy a compressor and start doing real spraying or wait untill I get it on the road (end of april) and take it to a body shop just to have the rear quaters and doors sprayed?
