Newww car

So this is what the Polo is making way for  ..

It was dry stored for 4 years then bought by a BMW mechanic who has meticulously maintained it for the last 3 years (new clutch, head gasket, cambelt, most ignition components etc. etc.). It came on some Seat Ibiza Cupra alloys which have got to go, and the Schmidts are currently for sale :-( And i'm really struggling to find some wheels that will suit it other than the usual rm's/rs's.

Not too many plans really apart from a 4 branch and full stainless, new steering wheel, fogs, wheels, better suspension setup, and the front plastic arches are missing. Any comments and opinions/ideas welcome :-D I'm really enjoying driving this and really want to hit some shows this year, starting with the German car show next weekend.

When i get my mk2 i'ma get huge banded steels, but it's a totally different look. I don't know what wheels i'd go for either man ;\, everything's so over-used as it is. But it does looks hot on them ones ;p

but other than that it's really cool man, looking forward to our drive down to Beaulieu ^^

Alex.

looking good. what year is it?

is this a left hand drive conversion? only the wipers are on the wrong side

thats why i asked the year. i think its a very early one. only the wipers and doors give it away. still loks nice though! 8-)

very nice, looks like a pre-90 spec one with big bumpers

You all spotted it  haha its 1985, so very early. Don't know what's going on with the number plate too :? And i was wondering about the wipers, are all the early ones like that??

Can't wait for the German car show, going to have to go across Salisbury way Alex 8-) Definitely getting a mk2 then? Andd i want something shiny! Hoping for a bit of inspiration but i do want something different. Was thinking about the corvette wheels like that sweeet green 6n on here but would be majorly copying him. Wonder what they'd look like polished..

Thanks for the kind comments :-)

yes the very early ones had wipers like that. everything else is late spec on it by the looks of it except the doors. looks like the late arch / moulding kit if you are trying to get another arch

Thanks mate :-) I want g60 arches, but they're slightly pricey!

ooh like it like it, mine is an early 16v (1986) so has those wipers too which I love cos they are different! i have late spec doors though with big bumpers.

Love this!!

should just be able to match a pair up to the kit thats already on. dont bother with rears. hardly different

Thanks Becky, yours looks verrrry nice too! Loving the smooth sides, makes a change. And lets not lie.. the wipers are shite!

Ahh that's great, thanks Iggi :-) i've found a set for £45 posted but they've been colour coded and i very much doubt i could get them back to anywhere near factory look. Why do people do it? Haha

might as well just buy some proper g60 ones and spend the extra. easier haha. although i always think they look a bit too wide for a mk2 without mega wide rims.

I want to hump it
