i am aware they come off with hot water?? however i was wondering if anyone had sum usefull tips for me, like and other substances that hepl or hinder

and roughtly how long shall this take me to get all the glue off???

does it come off in one or does it leave lill bits??

I used a paint stripper gun to get the ones off my Mk3. Worked a treat obviously dont have the heat on too close or too long.

I used t-cut and alot of elbow grease to get the remaining glue off but I've heard petrol on a rag can help.

use a credit card to scrape it off some people say a hair dryer works havnt tried it my self... and when i did mine there was little bits of glue left, best thing to do is let it dry then just rub it off with your fingers or palm, then wash it an t-cut to get rid of the faint scratches

then leave to dry, rubb off as much as poss and then t-cut so i was on the right lines, same apply for the badges???

I did my rear hatch badge (POLO) and found the laquere was peeling slightly so will have to get that sorted soon. I used a hair dryer and afterwards wiped over with a cloth and some car wax.

I just used a hairdryer to get the badges off then used ma finger to get the glue instead of using any solvents as they can stain your paintwork if your not careful. Mind to get the bad bits o glue off i used "Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover" worked a treat after a good polish

I've just done mine on my Mk3, hairdryer to heat up the adhesive, used some speaker wire in a sawing motion to remove the bumpstrip, then used AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover and an old t-shirt to get any glue off that i couldnt pick off with my lack of finger nails. Mission but came out a treat.

I done my MK4 6N yesterday, used a cutlery knife, sticky stuff remover and meths.

Took about three hours in all and now some fingers with tcut syndrome lol, will add some pics tomorrow if you are interested.

I did leave the Polo badge on but took the 1.6CL off.

easiest i found was hot water then use some thread with a see-saw action, then just used more hot water and the glue just peeled away nice and gently not damaging paintwork of leaving any scratches plus it only took half hour to do each badge, I'm yet to do the bump strips

use some dentil floss and then use it like a saw and go slowly.

I'm doin mine now....waitin for the kettle to boil :-)

in the middle of doing mine now. Kettle takes ages. Tip. . Don't use a credit card you use daily in case you melt it

when i did mine it peeled of all the laquer with it so looked stupid so stuck them bk on.

with my "polo" and "1.4cl* i removed them with fishing wire (just like your would cut cheese with a wire cutter thing, slice along the back of it) then removed the rest with my fingernails, wich took me AGES because i haven't got any fingernails..

Then finished it off with a little clean and tiny bit of t-cut

(Not to sure about the sidestrips) There is something called a fudgewheel or something like that you can get.. that seems to be the most effective way of removing the glue i heard.

I removed the 'Catalyst' badge from the back of my mk3, left horrible hard deposits and took off the laquer, I just sanded it down, primered and soon to respray it. Can't be bothered with trying to get it off, I'm currently touching up loads of scratches anyway.

...would only recommend this if the rest of your paintwork isn't in great condition and other bits of it need respraying.

want to take my sidestrips off but the paintwork is just very poor enderneath so am just going to get mk5 sidestrips as they sit alot more flush and colour code them along with my handles.... eventually

Get a cloth and some petrol , wipe the petrol on it then scrape off with , some sort of credit card or sumin , worked wonder on the bump stripes on my mk2 bready

i used a bit of dental floss and a credit card. just get the floss behind the badges and saw it off. pick as much glue off as you can then t cut where it was loads, the bump strips are a bit harder to do but do the same thing, just be patient with it when yoru getting the glue off
