all work had previously been done, just needed tidying up. had 4 new tyres fitted and fitted a new steering rack and track rod ends myself as I'm a mechanic.

lots of ideas in my head of what to do next but still unsure and comments&ideas would be very useful!

love that...

takes balls to run 13's without much arch gap.

wouldn't change anything except maybe rear lights, some 16v or 6n2's maybe?

is it a 1.4 8v?

i do have some problems when driving about, such as getting into car ark of my local shop. slight scrapage, but got to make a sacrifice becasue i like the look of been so low!

well it previously had all red rear lights but one was cracked and it came with the standard lights so i just put the standard ones back in, are 16v rear lights slightly smoked?

and yeah it is a a 1.4 8v, all engine is completely standard.

there 13 inch, mini superlites... with 165 55 tyres.

not sure on any other spec on them, i can have a look see if theres and size printed on the wheel, as they were on the car when purchased but they definatley made me make my mind up to buy car... love them!

as much as i like the look of this car...what is this guy on about ??? I could fit my foot in the arch gap in that first pic lmao....not taking away from the owner of the car but seriously what a comment!!!

take a look at Po_low's JDM 5 door if you wanna see low without arch gap!!!!

on another note - car looks realy nice, what condition is the bodywork in as the colour is really nice!!!

sweet man i want them but where is the best place to get them

also if you ever want to sell them ill take em off your hands

yeah iv seen alot lower, its about a fingers width off the tyres. was previously lower but as soon as you used a tiny bit of throttle it would rub on tyre becasue they poke out a little. so i took it up a bit just for ease of use and to save tyres.

body work is pretty good actually, its an audi colour. its like a silver with a blue ting underneath it... only bad parts are slight bubbling on osr arch and osf sill right at front the seperate little square had a slight hole.

contacted a lad about rolling the archs slightly so will get the slight bits painted up when thats done.. as for the sill will just plate it myself when i get the chance at work and get it sprayed at same time.

sorry mate didn't mean to cause offense.

obviously i haven't seen the car you are talking about, what with being a member for over a year and that car's build thread having something like 13 pages it wasn't something i was inclined to read.

i mostly come here for the helpful comments from the moderators.

i was just commending the guy for running a car that low, i wasn't bad mouthing anybody else's car.

i've experienced driving a car on the deck and couldn't deal with the constant scraping, cracked bumpers, leaking sumps etc so i was merely voicing my opinion.

again, terribly sorry for causing you such offense with my comment.

Yeah well I want the body to be as mint as possible... Thanks alot for the offer mate but I think I'd rather let someone wi a bit of know how do it, then if anything goes wrong it on them! Anything mechanical I can sort out easy enough iv got Ramps at my disposal when ever I need but over me head with body work! But again thanks alot for the offer mate.

sorry sean, was obviously on my man period last night...

searched leighp, found loads of people claiming they were as low as or nearly as low as him but no pics of his actual car...

don't get me wrong i'm in awe of people that low, wish i could run a car even 120mm down but i value my wishbones/cat/sump too much!

oh well, maybe i'll give it a go when i get another 6n ;)

suppose thats what air ride is for... but hey i for one cant afford that! I'm sure majority of people cant... every time i scrape my wallet hurts a little but nothing to major as of, but when iv had her on a ramp at work no marks on sump only on subframe and chassis rails nothing to bad so ill roll on :)

thats pretty good then, i remember the sinking feeling when i put the car in the air and went in the pit... bit more than a few subframe scrapes!

had to raise it up and ended up selling it on a week or so later.

planning on getting another 6n next year and may well give it another go ;) don't know if i'll risk 13s though.

love the storm grey (think that's what it is?) might look for one...

gorgeous! shame its not a standard vw colour :(

back to the lights, 16v rears are lightly tinted, you could always go for the cheap option and try a light tint on your standard rears. they look surprisingly good but if you DIY you have to be careful how much you use.
