Just a quick question. if i want to put 13'' RA's on my mk3 polop do i need longer wheel bolts?

I know you need them for 14's but not so sure about 13's.

Erm. G40s use the same wheel bolts as any other Mk2/3.

the above is true, however when we put a set of 13" RA's on takots genesis only a couple of threads went into the hub, so he got longer ones for £40.....

my std g40 bolts are no longer than std mk3 ones. there was an optional extra 13" bbs wheel which was 6j wide instead of the std g40 5.5j wide wheels which could make a difference

Correct

13x5.5 ET38 G40 issue, are fine

13x6 ET33 Mk1 Golf optional, will require longer bolts

Turns out they are 5.5J, Can also confirm they fit fine with standard bolts!

It don't need to make sense. I've ran 14x6 ET33 BBS RA's and you need longer wheel bolts. End of.

i've run some and i had to get longer wheels bolts which was bloody hassle!

14" bbs ra's have an in-built spacer any diy dubber whos worth their salt knows that

15" BBS RA's from a 16V golf will fit with the standard bolts as will 13" RA's from a G40. The 14" ones have a mounting face that is thicker than the others and need longer bolts. They were optional extras rather than a standard fit size.

All 4x100 factory fitted VW wheels will fit with standard wheel bolts.
