Hello all!

i have been contemplating a new re-trim for a while now and bagged myself a good deal with a friend

now; been thinking of alot of things but still after ideas

basically i originally thought of leather however after seeing this in a mk2 saloon i changed my ideas:

basically love the tartan patter in the middle but would be cool in other patters?

also then thought about half leather?

with the car being red I'm thinking: grey, black, or darkish brown or even tan?

Any pictures or ideas would be awsome!!!

Sam

here mine! :)

In my opinion I'm not liking the suede because of the marks it leaves but like the tartan!

also why the lotus elise badge? :L

I'm temped for a brown or tan colour because it would be different?

^^^ thats sweet. should see if i can get my bucket seats retrimmed like that

To be fair the first picture is my favourite everything looks perfect to me, but thats just my opinion.

Need to retrim my door cards. The suede looks like a good plan.

The only thing that would annoy me about that first one is the material has been pulled funny so the tartan isn't straight. Its wonky. Plus the surrounding tan bits haven't been pulled tight and look baggy.

Nice interior that.

New GTi interior looks very similar:

I wish they'd done something a little more like that for the 6n2 GTi but I do love the red trimmed seatbelts.

^ The reflections from that dashboard must be insane.

SHADES 8-) LOL

who cares! just look at it!!

Could just lay some red over the top of the dash to sort the glare, otherwise it does look pretty special!

Mark, i really like the MK2 Polo 3-spoke steering wheel, i've looked at various '70s Mota Lita stuff for mine, MK1 Rocco etc, but i like the original one too much to bite the bullet. So to see one wrapped in leather..

One thing though, the centre horn push. It's doing my head in. It's looking a bit.. small..? I recon i'd have to shave the dots off, cut out the VW badge, get it covered, then countersink a VW badge in place of the old one (probably the pin type you put on your suit jacket).

Mine's too much of a shed to justify it, though.

i do also like the coupe s wheel, however they just feel too thin!

Has anyone here experienced the wooden Nardi master race?

Really need a shoop of that into a MK2, i noticed that Nardi one in those Eunos LE's a while back and it's the only one i've seen so far that i recon might just work - wood must be great for 'steering feel'.

heres a thought, what about keep the tartan centers, chocolate brown leather sides and door cards, motolita steering wheel, chocolate carpet :p

I don't think it would work aesthetically but they are damn nice. I haven't driven with one sadly but I've sat in a car with one fitted, the best way to describe them is to say that they feel just right in your hand somehow..

Wood wheels are cold in winter. And i really dont like wood in a car newer than 1970. Just look tacky IMO. I'm more than Happy with my Hella wheel.
