Ok, next.

Another Mk2 Saloon, bought from JimmyB, another Mk2 saloon, unsurprisingly. Chassis is in superb nick, bodywork needs a bit of attention, spots of surface rust and a couple of small dings here and there. Had a small issue with the fuel accumultor leaking, replaced with a t-piece, and change of water pump. Top end is rattling a touch, I suspect the hydraulic tappets are to blame, but hey-ho, it goes!

Lovely brown dash, will probably spray up the trim to cream, have a few spares to try out with 1st.

Suspension has arrived today, Phil Jackson Tuning 80/60 kit, and just commited to another GT engine, this one with a Poloace 8k rev limiter chip, and a 4-2-1 fanimold already fitted.

Just got to start the search for some 13x7 wheels now.

Will add pics as I do it.

Right, suppose I better do an update.

Started a GT conversion on this last weekend, did Saturday with Stefduff (cheers!) and Ollie. Got the old engine out in a couple of hours, then had a good clean in there, was filthy!

Decided not to feck around, and get the GT in same day, needed to get the engine crane back to the owners (a local garage!). That was last Saturday.

Last Sunday comprised of ripping out the old fuel lines, as I'm putting a new set in, without splits or joins anywhere. Then I threw the loom in, which had lost most of it's wrap, but made it easier to locate any missing sockets, only a couple, so raped the bits off the old loom. Also changed the interior loom to cater for the fuel pumps.

Yesterday, started up again, plainly did loom work, routing everything as factory, and re-wrapping in good old black sparky's tape!

Today, finished the loom, then went to put the 4-2-1 on, but decided to take the heat-wrap off (had problems with the stuff in the past), to discover one of the pipes was nearly in 2. So off to a mate's to weld it up!

Got back, quick clean, quick spray, and fit it.

Adding to that, sprayed the fan housing an the rocker cover, and got it all fitted. (Not too bothered about finish, just a tidy-up more than anything!

Just got to mount the expansion tank, run the new fuel lines, mount the fuel pump underneath, and we should be ready (fingers crossed!)

Only took 2 pics, couldn't be bothered documenting the whole lot this time!

Happy now, GT conversion is up and running, just got to tighten up the driveshaft bolts, finish sealing the exhaust, and get it booked in for the M.O.T.

Now 13x7 wheels are still to be found, and the interior bits I will be spraying up when I get them!

Roll on!

Lucky man, I'd like a GT conversion or just a proper GT :).
