to all of you that have changed your dial lighting in your 6n's could you please tell me which leds to buy as a direct replacement?

Yes it's for the pre Sept 97 clocks, it's a clear filter with blue LED's and came with LED's for the headlight switch panel & heater control panel, can't find the kit at the moment but I think it also included LED's for the window switches and the mirror position switch as well.

that kit will only work with the pre 97 (old type) dials.

to replace the leds on a post 97 you will need to take the clocks apart and desolder and remove the existing leds and solder new leds to the pcb, also the leds are very small and you will need a low wattage soldering iron with a fine soldering iron tip.

now to find the leds for the switches etc.. anyone know if they are the same type as the ones behind the clocks??

The LED's for the later clocks are of the surface mounted type, for the switches you will need conventional LED's with long legs and a resistor

okay sounds good thanks alot, will rip apart one of the switches and see what i find!
