New discs, pads, flexi hoses, painted calipers:

Haven't really done much else other than tidy stuff up and spend loads of money on the bugger.

Badges have all been sprayed matt black.

I'll update this every time something is done, so.. watch this space :)

Mate, the exhaust is delayed ......... sorry but I packaged it up and asked my darling wife to post it for me as I had to leave for a trip to Bangalore India (Business :sad: ) When she picked me up yesterday it was still in her boot. Bit of a update...

all of the plans in the 1st post have pretty much gone down the drain.

As I'm going to be using it as a daily work horse and filling it with heavy stuff (I'm a gardener, itl be full of slabs n stuff at times and pulling a trailer) i'm no longer lowering it, So its staying at stock height :p. No more sexy wheels opr any mods to the engine. Sold everything now other than the chip wich i just cant get rid of

Anyway, After destroying a front bumper trying to get spotlights to fit i gave up with that idea too and got a new'un from a scrappy.

After farting about for days trying to get the towbar fitted i actually managed not to give up and now its all on

A few pictures from the past few days..

Plans now are to fix the drivers side lock as it wont unlock now I've got the armor plate on.

fit fuel filter and new zuast rubbers whilst its on the ramps then get it down.

Need to get the lights re-aligned after fitting new ones with some fancy Phillips bulbs :p

Getting all service stuff next payday then getting it tuned once its all done.

Also blowing a whopping £190 on speakers and a headunit lol. CBA with spending loads on it, dont need it to be anything special, just as long as i can listen to some tunes I'm not fussed.

Slats fitted to roofrack and then fit roofrack and all other extras and It'll be near finished, ready for a thrashing at Bugjam :p

Well, got some more little jobs done...

Sprayed my rear drums with the paint i had left from the front calipers

Spent hours taping these up

Now sprayed, awaiting lacquer

Test fitted roofrack

Gotta give the slats another coat of varnish then fix them something along the lines of this

Now fitted, still got to wire it up though.

Some repair work around the locks, Someone had attempted to break in by bosting the lock off or something. Dented all the metal in and scratched it.

Not the best fillering but I'm not that bothered tbh, the paint halfords mixed for me obv isn't going to match so its going to look a tad daft anyway.

Getting insured on it a week on Friday so all should be done by then hopefully :)

looking good matey, the wiring is easy on them... i pikied the cables into the right and left headlight connector, with my votex grille it has a piggyback connector that goes on the back so from that i do know that the fuses and cabling can take the current of the grille lights on the hella :)

out of interest how much did u pay for the grille? pm me if u want...

got any pics of how you wired it? This didn't come with the any of the loom other than the bits already connected to the lamp (earth and a fingers length of wire) I've got some ring spotlights that i don't want, got all the wires with them so might use that.

I paid £65 posted for it. a tad more than you lol.

Still gutted i didn't message the dude on ebay, i was getting all excited about no1 bidding on it haha. I then come back after work and its ended, then you've put a post up saying you'd got it, i was gutted lol.

Off to get some 1200 grit now to get that primer ready for paint, just went out to do it and realized the finest i had was 400 lol.

Well, done a fair bit now, Its 90% ready for the road.

Stereo is in, is awesome for what it is really.

Wheels are hammerited and the centre cap things are done

Spotlights are wired up to main beam

Relocated the horn and bodged the wires to make um longer.

Had the car tuned this morning, runs a lot smoother and isn't so noisy

Just got siggy lighter to wire in and give everything a good clean and its pretty much there. Oh and try n get the rear wiper working (again, for the 3rd time)

wow that things come a long way mate! good work indeed! them fogs are mad, you going to adjust them to use aswell as the mains? and like the centre caps

Then today i went for a shoot to some random place with a few people.. and i erm.. went too far?

Rear wheels were in the air.. front were just spinning hahaha. Resting on the petrol tank and sills. didn't realize that till it was out though.

Few people lifted the rear and some put weight on the front and i gave it some then nearly flew into the ditch the other side haha

I nearly crashed into a mate today too. was in the car with a mate following someone in a mini to the cosford Breakfast meet. 'whys he breaking?, whys he indicating? SHIT, I'M NEARLY ON TOP OF HIM' was a 'you'd have to be there to understand' kinda thing'

Then after that went to see the Goodyear Chimney get blown up.. got there and it was kinda already gone LOL

Now for the worst/ funniest bit. An old Indian woman was standing on the grass verge looking iffy. she kinda lifter her dress thing up a bit and... wait for it.... HAD A SHIT. On the footpath on a busy'ish road with manyer cars going buy... she just stood there and let it all out.. me n my mate were speechless. hahaha, I've never seen anything like it before.. like wtf?

now the clutch cable is on its way out.. maybe the plate and whatnot too.. gutted. It's felt strange since I've had it, cant feel the bite for shyt.. now its making some proper strange noises and it ALWAYS crunches into reverse. Best last till after bugjam because I'm utterly skint now.

i found out my mot expires this week so i took the grille off as i didn't want to fail on mis-allignment! there are allignment screws on the lamps, but i really need the car to pass and cause as least hassle as possible!

when i got more time i'll get my grille and tinted headlamps put back on and re'alligned properly!

Looks a little odd with the ones at either end but wasn't much i could do about it as the bracket things need to go there. and some of the pieces of wood are different lengths (you would have thought B&Q would make them all the same, but obv not) and i couldn't be bothered to cut them all to the smallest one so i left it. Tbh i think it looks a little shit but still an improvement. made it more usable for small stuff at least.

Will get it on the car tomos for a test fit then its staying off until a meet or something probs. Its too easy to steal lol.

Getting it ready for its respray atm...

All dents scratches and chips are slowly vanishing!

Its at the garage now having a new clutch fitted, getting it back on friday, hopefully it wont be windy or raining and ill be able to get the rest of the bits primed, and a few other tiny dents filled and sorted out.

Bump strips off too if I have the time :)

yep, the garage I got the clutch done at.

He works on a lot of aircooled stuff and classic minis. Hes a sound guy tbf

Obv not a pro painter but hes had more experience than me and for that price I cant moan lol

How to do what?

If you mean the speakers, just buy some 4x6's and they fit into the rear shelf supports.

They are held in by these strange things that thread themselves into little plastic pipe like things.

Easy enough to do if you can get hold of some of the strange things and take the shelf support off to fit the speaker. That's what i did anyways,

The JBL's took a bit of persuasion to fit but there in now.

Thinking of the speakers. I wish id have gone with 4's up front. as the ones for the front (forgot what size) wouldn't fit anyways and i had to cut into the pod a bit to make um fit.

One bonus tho, they are a really tight fit and don't need screwing in lol. the covers stop them from popping out and they don't vibrate at all.
