We had a meeting with Whittlebury Park on friday in the hope that we can answer everyones questions regarding this years show.

What food is available on site?: The paddock suite which is at the top of our field will be open serving full english breakfasts from approximately 7-9am and evening meals such as curry and rice or chips, sausage egg and chips, teas and coffees etc. there is also the bistro in the atrium but thats very posh and there is a strict dress code. Also there is a pub within easy walking distance called the Fox and Hounds that apparently serves really nice food and if people say that penny sent them from Whittlebury they will get looked after - although i don't think this is especially cheap

She said that they often lay on Hog Roasts etc if enough people have booked in advance

Bar facilities: the Paddock suite bar will be open, and there is a marquee at the bottom of the next field that will be open if enough plots have been sold in advance for that weekend (she said that they need to sell about 200 plots to justify it) Plastic glasses are provided so drinks can be taken outside, there will also be a seating area in front of the paddock suite

Loos and showers: there are 6 shower cubicles and loos off the camping office next to the paddock suite but extra mobile blocks are brought in dependant on the number of plots sold, there will be one at the top of our field, and possibly another one at the top of copse if enough plots are sold. there are 2 free hairdryers plumbed in there as well.

Entrance: people who have booked in advance need to go into the camping office to be ticked off the register, people can also pay there when they arrive. over the weekend it will be manned from around 8am onwards and there will be someone there all night as they are building a kiosk with barrier at the moment, but they don't allow anyone onto the field when its dark so we would advise people to try to arrive when its still light but admin will be there with high vis jackets and torches to guide any late arrivals in - we will post up some emergency admin contact numbers in case anyone gets stuck. the gates arn't locked but you will just have to wait until someone can come to get you.

registration numbers on forms: you fill it in on the advanced booking form, they will send you out the pass for the car, but if you end up in a different car you can just get it changed and initialled at the office when you check in. car passes will be sent during the month before the show.

BBQ's: need to be off the ground so no grass scorching - they will come and tell people off!

Noise: its fine as long as we aren't affecting the rest of the people camping there until 11.30pm then we have to keep the noise to a minimum - there will be people in caravans in the plot next to us where the electricity hook up's are so everyone needs to show consideration for fellow campers

Water: there are no taps actually in our field, but there is a tap by the camping office, and 3 along the hedge beside the road to the lake, and another at the bottom by the lake that we feel would make a perfect car wash area.

Field itself: the grass will still be cut into stripes from a previous event, each plot is 6 x 7m and for a car and a tent, if anyone takes up any more space then they may get asked to pay for another plot, the plots are not individually marked out but we just need to make sure we don't camp too close together, the field is quite hilly so prime camping plots are around the top edges of the field.

General points:

• Everyone will get given a bin bag on arrival and need to make sure they bag all rubbish up
• People are welcome to play golf but it is a posh country club so they need the proper clothes and shoes.
• Everyone needs to drive slowly and carefully through the surrounding village
• Driving in and out is fine as long as people have passes displayed, Towcester is about a 5 min drive up the road where there are supermarkets, loads of take aways etc, there are petrol stations, little chef, maccy d's and some american diner down the road.
• No unnecessary driving about will be allowed, and absolutely no driving around at night except the escorted late arrivals.
• The road in has a give way system so people need to drive slowly and be considerate, there are also horses in the next field so have respect (and signs about toads on the road!)
• only one small speed bump by the kiosk thing, and the track is sort of mud and stones but the bit everyone needs to use to get in and out of the field is fine, no major pot holes just need to keep it slow
• We have to be quite strict this year I'm afraid so please behave, people will be removed from the site if they break the rules
• absolutely no fireworks, or open fires
• You can walk down a footpath into the woods and get up to the parimeter fence but you can't see the track itself, Penny did say that they often sell tickets so if people have money then they can always go in.
• The place is really easy to find, there are signposts to Whittebury Hall, as I said though it does involve a short drive through the village from the main road.

They said that they sometimes lay on bands on and stuff, basically they lay on anything that they think will keep everyone happy and they want people to have a good time she said that they put things on based on how many people are booked in, if its really busy then they will do things like hog roasts where you just buy portions, and the big marquee bar will be open if there are enough people booked in, we are not having a club marquee this year for this reason.

So please can as many people as possible to book in advance, as the more people that book the better the facilites and the show in general. it will also help us to organise the space for tents, and to avoid other people being booked onto our field we need to take up as many spaces as possible, you also save a fiver by doing so :-D

We all want to make sure that this is a really good show, and that everyone has a good time so please all help to make it so

I'd say so - the fields wouldn't enjoy being driven about on, and the aim this year is to impress or at least satisfy the whittlebury governors so that we can stay.

Can't win 'em all

its £40 from thursday till sunday, or £30 from Friday - Sunday, £20 from Saturday - Sunday in advance, and add another £5 to that if you come on the day.

If anyone can only make Friday night or wants to do one day on saturday only and wants to book in advance just alter the details on the booking form and pay the same as you would for just saturday night or just sunday daytime we would rather people did this so the venue has the numbers and we know how many people are just day trippers and can allocate a parking area.

i was at this campsite the other week at the renault world series.I'm warning you the gravel roads to the fields are pretty bumpy.too low and there could be a tad bit of scratching on the floor lol

we will put up an emergency contact number nearer the time, it will also be stuck on the gate so people get stuck can call us. admin will be wearing high-Viz jackets and have torches so we can escort people in.
