POLOMON's white 5 door

Featured Replies

Model: 1.9 D CL 5 door 6n

Engine: 1.9 D (the oil borner)

Suspension: Stock at the moment but i do have raceland coilies going on ASAP

Brakes: STD vented stuff

Wheels and Tyres: 7x15'' MIM's for shows/summer wrapped in 185/45 ditch finders and undecided on winters yet.

Exterior Styling: relocated badge on std(ish) grille clear indis/side repeaters, debadged rear end, mk5 stubbies also to go on soon (as soon as i can get hold of a nearside mirror), mk5 rears, front fogs, cc'd back badge plate with std chrome badge, dewipered, the usual stuff

Interior Styling: momo race wheel going on soon, white gear gaiter, mk2 ibiza knob, red led's all round (soon to have leathers) shortened door pins (harden for thieves to break in) well I'm hopeing so

ICE and Security: well it does have central locking as std :p

Comments:

erm... well I'm planning on dropping it as far as possible on coilies, removing side strips as soon as i can and mud flaps e.t.c but on std wheels they look best on.

Things like chromed engine bay parts are on the agenda also but sourcing a rocker cover to send off to get chromed is causing a few headaches (if anyone has one please let me know).

Now piccy time

very clean loving the crazy grille pal

5 stars due to the inspiration gained from the cleaning :)

Certainly one of a kind!!!

No pics of your rims!!?!? I have heard some bad things about those raceland coilies. I was going to buy a set but the seller who had them stopped buying them due to so many complaints :ninja:

Love this car wish i had the time and patience to make mine this clean.

Nice and clean but how do you lift them pins up from the inside as when u pull the door handles it usually doesnt make them lift up and they look well flush not even enough to pinch with your fingers to pull it up? do the neighbours think you have OCD or do you not get dodgey comments asking why you clean your car alot like me lol?

haha SHIT just my luck, well they will be on in a month or so, i will report back then properly. they have started to oxidise already in my bedroom :o so I've coated them in chain wax :D

I'm not sure what you mean mate? i dont pinch them up? when u do the central locking they come up? and when i pull the handle from the inside they also go up? but tbh the car has had maybe 2/3 people in the back in the last 2 years so I'm not that fussed

as for the neighbours they dont really see what i get upto as i live on a farm (ex farm) so theres loads of land to get out of the way of peopel watching me :D

Thanks fo rthe coomenst guys apreciated, the rims have gone off to be refurbed properly by a local bodyshop, i know there work is great as they sprayed a mates mini so i can trust them... BUT dont be expecting to see them in black and white, and i no everyone wont like them but tbh I'm doing the car for me not anyone else, but commenst are still great to have :D

is that wiper blank plate home made or from justmatz?

Looking well though!

home made dude, i couldnt justify paying the rediculous justmatz prices. so... ye took about an hour :p

looks uber clean bud, but i think you have OCD ( obsessive cleaniny disorder)

Fair point, it must just be me then because my CL has central locking but when you pull the handles from inside to get out if the car is locked the pins dont automatically lift up they stay down, hence why i was wondering what u do when u try to get out of the car seein as they look flush to the door cards and no way of gripping them!

ahhhhh sorry i get what you mean now mate, ye the drivers side pin is just abit longer than the rest, but the other 3 are still short. sorry about that  when i said handle i ment the grippy bit at the top the kinda bally bit that you use to pull them up with not the interior door handle  my discriptions are awful :p

i like the car looks good the grill different i think its good but not my type of thing , is it lowerd a nice car though go 5dr's 2

well heres a couple of pics, the wheels been sat in the wash house allll week and has subsequantly been covered in dust from the washer and dryer, stupidly i didnt think of wiping it off as it didnt look that bad until i saw the pics.

a quick before shot.. this is shot blasted to within an inch of its life so it was VERY VERY pitted, a swine to polish.

the wheel has only had 40grit to 1500 wet and dry and autosol, it will be going to get polished with a mop asap :-)
