well i was mildly suprised with what i found, car thats being scrapped and the bracket behind the front bumper, was nothing but, tin foil like, the whole thing was rotten as hell, could push your finger through sections easily

could it be a bad batch of the front sections or what? as the rest of the car isnt too bad

worst amount of rott i found on a vw, and it is one of the newer ones i had here!

It the same on the mk4 I'm breaking at the moment,front end is decent apart from that panel. Mine even has the part number sticker stuck to the flaking paint!

mark 4's suck... i own one... they look great with a few choice modifications on them but ill be honest and say that they rust just as much as any french car of that age! Well mine does.

There was a mk4 I used to park near at Campus at uni. There was a hole on the corner of the front valance that you could've put your fist through, it was worse than my mk1!!!
