I'm currently stuck in a situation with Steve Pitt where he has my complete g40 engine including charger and a substantial amount of money which I paid in advance for a rebuild including lots of additional parts.

As it stands I have received nothing from him, neither any parts or even any indication as to when my new engine would be ready, he is now proving impossible to contact. I've tried lots of different ways to get him, but as yet he only seems to contact me when it suits him and never replies to any of my emails. I've got to the stage now that basically its just not good enough considering what he owes me!

There have been a few people post up here looking for him because he owes them parts, then nothing else seems to be mentioned about it.... does this mean other people are getting there issues resolved and I'm the only one who still has matters outstanding, or are they still awaiting whats owed to them and are struggling to get in contact with him also?

If anyone reading this still has outstanding issues, either they are owed parts, money or something else could they post up, or if they dont want to put it on a public forum, please contact me.

I am trying to find out if I'm the only one who has issues with Steve, or if the problems are bigger than just me. Are there more people in a similar situation who haven't posted up and are themselves getting nowhere with a resolve?

If anyone has any contact details for Steve please post them up or contact me. The old PSD mobile number is no longer recognised, the psd & msn email addresses are supposedly no longer used and the gmail address seems to only work when it suits.

I wouldnt be airing this on a public forum if I didnt think it was required and I'm not the kind of person to tarnish someones name and reputation over something trivial.

The bottom line is I'm just trying to get back whats mine and hopefully help others get what they are owed.

From what i know your dealing with lots of broken promices and and crap. There are lots of people with issues with PSD.

Don't be surprised if your G40 was fitted in to another customers car who was waiting longer then you.

I doubt anyone has been waiting longer than the 4 years I have, altho I could easily believe my parts are no longer in his posession!

I've never used psd so cant and wont comment on psd's work, but i have been using the forum long enough to know that your not the first person to complain about not being able to make contact and stuff generally taking too long to be done.

Yes 4 years, melted a piston mid 2004. Things haven't been like this with Steve for 4 years, there have been other factors extending the engine build time. Its only over this last year that things have got to this stage!

Again I'm posting up to hopefully hear from anyone trying to contact steve for parts or money that is outstanding.

I believe PSD went out of businesss and from what i can gather he has pretty much completely cut himself off from the VW scene too. Trading standards or citizens advice may be a helpful if regrettable source of advice.

read your post on the club g40 forum, it is sad to read, but your best bet is to get in touch with a private detective, yes it always sounds like something off a film, but they can locate people very easily, i know one local here and the information he can find is sweet...

I know your only asking for other people that may have been scammed, but i thought it might help, from talking to steve, and met him, i cant believe it has even happened.

But again you have to face facts, your engine you wont ever see again, i cant see him keeping it in his garage for when you "finally find him"

Your only real option is to locate his residence, even pay a visit, see how he wants to play, and if he wont play, take it to the small claims, or as this may be, the large claims!

His company closed down, it didnt go bust did it?

Either way legal advice i would defo recommend...

But personally, i would get a private detective to locate him, pay a visit, make it quite clear you arent going to disappear...

surely if every one thats been done over gets together and goes to the police they can nail the shit out of this bloke, its not like he's some faceless crook hiding behind a false name and scamming people over the net, you already have his name, phone number (even if its an old one) and address for his old unit and his old company name. even our police force couldn't screw up finding him surely? lol

Wouldn`t the police regard this as a "Civil" matter, hope you get this sorted.

If he's ripped so many people off then it needs to be dealt with properly ie litergation, court proceedings etc.

I think he's more likely to reply if he's got a few county court letters popping through his letterbox.

Going from what people have said about steve, he must have taken/not returned/stolen thousands of pounds worth of parts etc.

I just find it a bit wierd how nothing has been done about this if its as bad as people say.

If he was some newbie that came onto the forum and ripped people off by a few hundred £ then there would be uproar with people wanting to hunt him down and getting the police involved. Yet with steve, there's all these people that say how they've been ripped off and not had parts returned etc and nothing is done about it.

I personally haven't had any bad experiences with steve but if there are things like this that have happened then it really needs to be dealt with properly.

i already have. from what i have read over the years, i got the impression that the dude from psd was chummy with some of the mods, and the last thread i read on psd, said psd blokey got pleanty of support from various club members and a few mods, after there were concerns raised over how long things were taking to get done (and no i cant remember the names of these people)

i've just been scanning through the thread in polo chat about a scammer, maybe the people that have been scammed by steve could get some advice from them? there bloke has been arrested and being charged by theft by deception or some thing similar apparently.
