Well,

Got stopped by police today on the way to work, they asked for my driving documents, asked if i was part way through modifying my car and then laughed at my drivers license photo ( i would as its terrible ) and then let me go on my way (not before telling me to put my harnesses on before pulling out and to remind me i was in a hard shoulder for pulling out) hahahaha i knew that mate as i pulled over onto the hard shoulder haha, and the only reason my belt was off was to open the passenger side window.

Anyway I've been pulled over once before in this red mk2 polo, for not running a front plate when i was rocking mk1 polo chromie bumpers, i had stuck the stuck plate on wtih sticky tape but i refrained to stay on there when i got back to the car park so i chucked the plate in the car and drove back home. got pulled over by an undercover m6 beemer with two firearms officers inside haha. They were going to give me a 30 quid fine but let me off as i was round the corner to my house and said i would put the original bumpers and number plate back on.

Stopped once in the purple mk1 golf and just asked if it was my car, and why i wasnt running a backbox haha, the still warm backbox in the boot answered that question along with the plates sitting in the boot with my name on them haha

stopped in my first mk1 golf gti when i was at the services rolling a fag, got told the car was stolen 2 years ago haha and they may seize the car =O, one copper got in my car while we drove to the station and cos it was spanked on its balls he asked me if the suspension was broken haha nooblet.

I've had a few other encounters with the law in other peoples cars but ill leave the tales for them to tell

ps. i have no sympathy for people who got stopped or fined for illegal numberplates, wheels that dont fit in the arches, or wrecklessly speeding or just being a general tool on the road pissing everyone off

got pulled for having a marijuana airfreshener, the worst one was when i had a green arch on my black mk3 as apparently i should have declaired it to the DVLA and also for having german plates one ( wich i am sure you will be happy to hear ) as you love them =]

Once for having a light out, didnt even bother about askin me about insurance, Mot etc...

All i can think of.. bearing in mind my 6n is running the poke and (less obvious) pressed plates, I've not been stopped in that yet, touch wood.

Been pulled over a few times for various things, lights out mainly but there are two occsions that stick in my mind.

First is when i got pulled in my first Mk3 1.0l polo. Got pulled because it was an old car and the exhaust looked a little low. The reason it looked low was because the rubber mount had come off and I was using tiewraps and copper wire to hold the back box up but the centre sagged a bit. The woman officer who pulled me was convinced it was dangerous even though I stood on and rattled the exhaust to show it wasnt going anywhere. Got a £30 fine and got told I wasnt aloud to drive the car till its fixed.......apart from driving it home

I really just think she wanted to prove she had balls.

The second was in my Saxo. I darted through a set of lights just as they went from red to red, amber.

Got pulled by a cop van for doing it, told to sit in the back of the van, then the dude took a hold of the van door and said "Next time you go through lights wait till they turn red before you pull away" so I said "Dont you mean wait till they turn green?" This pissed him off abit I think as he said "Ah whatever" and slammed the door shut before his mate laughed then took my details.

wtfbbq about having to declare the green arch to the dvla, they are a bunch of mother fucking robbing bastards anyway, i had to a pay 40 quid fine for not declaring my car SORN even though i never recieved a reminded about it, its bullshit that you have to renew a sorn every year anyway, surely if its off the road your not just going to suddelnly go pow a years over you know what I'm just going to drive my car now without tax!

oh yeh about the colour thing, i had a think about that one, as my front panel and bonnet on my mk1 polo as now black, so I've wrote silver/black on the logbook to stop any jobsworth nice person trying to catch me out

jokes about the mary jane air freshener, i used to have one, but when i was a nipper everywhere i drove i used to blaze a fat joint, so i didnt want to give them a reason to stop me so it came off.

woop about the german plate pull =D and its all good that they stopped you for having a light out, nice of them to let you know, but when I'm fully insured, mot'd etc id rather they checked all that kinda stuff out, gives you a little more faith that they are doing thier job properly.

edit: rofl kwijibo what a nooblet, i tend to get my words mixed up alot like that, id make a fine copper i tell thee, and that other bird was definatly on a I've got balls flex, you should have gave her your balls, in her mouth

Saxo - 4 times. Once for speeding and not actually having tax, once for not displaying a tax disc (was mounted at the top of the windscreen, apparently illegal...), once for having a dirty number plate and once for just "being around Peterhead" after 11 pm

Also been followed for about 5-10 miles in the Saxo by a cop car recently.

Never had any trouble in anything apart from the Saxo lol.

worst time was when i got pulled and they were checking through my details and my lisence came back as an auto license they were going to take my car and charge me but they decided to give me a producer and let me go as long as i took my driving test pass certificate into the station and it was for a manual car, turned out to be that the DVLA had ticked the wrong box for my liscence so it was an auto was abit scary to start with but it got resolved thankfully.

also been fined twice for D pressed plates IMO not worth the hassle i knew i was in the wrong so didn't start a police hate thread on here like loads of people seem to do but nowadays i just run normal uk legal plates alot less hassle tbh

also got pulled for wheels sticking out of the arches but more stretch and camber + pulled and rolled arches means i don't seems to get hassled as much anymore even though they do still stickout about 3cm

Pulled over in my 1st car (mk2 bready) for having one rear light brighther than the other. Halfords fault. was happier to talk about cars than ask for my details. Sound old copper.

Pulled over when i was outside my mates house dropping him off. Thought i was after drugs from the dealer round the corner checked the car over plus me and my mate. Noticed my german plates but didnt twig on!

Pulled over on my way to go do some decorating. Thought i was a different car/person luckily. Checked car over and at the time, G40 was debadged. 'nice G40' was what one copy told me!

Thats just 3 from my 10+ years of driving!

1. in 6n, On way back from Leeds fest at about 3:30am, first time I ever got pulled and wasn't exactly the best time but just had a brake light out, didn't check anything else.

2. in GT, nobber in a 4x4 cut me up on a roundabout and went up the verge a bit, van turned round and pulled me, checked over my car and let me go

3. Went round a corner a bit fast and a van was the other side of the road, turned round and pulled me, checked my car etc and let me go

Got pulled on my scooter for doing 40 in a 30 by a woman in a beemer, she was a proper moody cow. Give me a warning thing and put me on the database and said if I get pulled for anything again I will get my scooter/bike/car taken off me

i wont ever get out of the car if a copper stops me, let them come to you, just make sure your safely parked without causing an obstruction to traffic, switch your engine off and wait for them.

the common mistake is to run out the car and go and speak to the copper, makes you blatently look like you have something to hide.

i deffo concur with the be polite and charming and youll be fine (dependant on offence, i don think its right that if your caught doing something illegal you should be let off), i should have been fined 30 quid for the numberplate but was let off as i was made redudant that day and the copper took pity =], I've never been caught speeding because i dont do it much and if i do its got a perfect time and a place for it, i dont like speeding on motorways cos 65-70 is such a chiller speed on the motorways, and any more than 50 on most country lanes is a bad idea because most of them are potholed to fuck and ragging it over them could send you haywire off the road.

and coppers are a mixed bag, come in all shapes, sizes and mentalities, much like the diverse culture that is our forum, so everyone has there own opinions and thier own interpretation of the law.

Scooters were so much fun though! I got followed by a Volvo estate when i had a dodgy rear plate and no L plate, this was on some back road, tried to get away, fail..

Got pulled, '50 in a 30', he let me off as he said scooters dont normally get pulled for speeding, i only got dont for the plate, £30..
