Debadging Mk4

Featured Replies

have read several articles which all say roughly the same things, warm up adhesive, remove with some kind of wire/dental tape and then clean + wax

any additional suggestions? also are there any pins which hold these badges in place?

Cheers

if youve read the topics then you will now peopel have asked for additional info and they say exactly the same thing ;)

The best bet is to do what you have done and search

No there arent any pins on a mk4 ;) there is a FAQ or a how to on removing side strips too written by heartagram.

yeah alright, thanks

also, atm I'm only seriously considering removing the "polo" badge, but can the central vw badge be removed or issit not worth it?

would white spirit work to clean the goo stuff off or would it ruin the paint??

use a heat gun or something like it then use some wire or something and if all the adhesive dont come of it can be a real pain to get of i had to use a toffee wheel to get the 1 layer i couldnnot get off lol.

To remove my 1.4CL and POLO badging on my 6n i used good dental floss to take them off then AUTOGLYM intensive tar remover and white spirit, a cloth and some elbow grease and then polished after, did both badges in about 2 hours, and not a mark left :-)

The 'POLO' badge is easy as its only small..

Hairdryer on an extension lead, thin speaker wire or similar..

Then bug and tar remover or WD40 and your fingernail..

personally id never touch my paint with white spirits or petrol, but some people do.

polish and wax the area afterwards too
