Looks good mate! Liking the wheels. Did the BMC make much of a difference because I'm thinking of getting one.

thanks :)

its does a bit, definately more responsive.

hope this helps

You need to totally smooth the boot. Looks daft with just the handle, and also I don't think the front plate looks in place with it just being stuck in the middle of a smoothed bumper. I'd either remove it or move it down to the grill.

It could do with a GTI splitter and some more lowering at the front :)

hey thanks for the comments.

i dont mind the handle on the boot to be honest, I've seen alot with and without and for the moment i dont think it looks to bad, maybe in the future..

as the numberplate.. i had it on the lowergrill for a while, but just didnt look right. i also tried having it in the window but is just hassle at petrol stations.

It's now lower front and back but have been busy and havnt had time to put the pictures up. oh and i brought a gti front splitter, just waiting to fit it when the rest of the body work is done, which should be next month :)

heya, you added me on msn & found you on here :ninja:

cars looking good, 6n2s with smoothed bumpers always look nice

have you got any pics with the plate on the grill?

i recon if you was to have to have it on the bumper maybe go for plain, less busy plates?

& as above maybe drop it down some more, you got quite a bit of arch gap even on the modernlines

sorry if i sound rude! lol loving the car but these are jsut bits i would look into

you ever over in wycombe?

I'm in henley every day working but I'm in the work van so you would never see mine, saying that iv never seen yours tho

good job man, get yourself to the bucks dub meets!

i also tried having it in the window but is just hassle at petrol stations.

What kind of hassle?

I've ran no front plate whatsoever for 5 months now and never had hassle off petrol stations?

thanks for the comments man :)

i think when I'm back from uni in a couple of weeks the plate will go, it was temporary until i could figure out what to do with it, but i think i'll just go without a front plate again..

and as for drop.. i hav'nt actually put the modernlines back on since I've droped it more... but i think the arch gap should be closed, if not, lower it shall go! :)

and yhh I'm in wycombe all the time, probably spend more time there then in henley! so where do you work in Henley?? and i should be at Bucks dubs next month, or maybe this month.. depending on when i come back from uni :D

Well, it might be just me, but the petrol station i go to would'nt let me fill up until i showed my plate :-( and this just kept happening. probably the petrol station just having it in for me

but, the front plate is coming back off, ruins the smoothed bumper. i think I'm just going to try a different petrol station from now on :D

tis niiiice

Make a custom front 'plate and fit it to the underside of the passenger-side sun visor so that you can just leave it flipped down when on the public roads? And flip it up for shows, photos and when parked etc!

Looks good so far though, loving the smoothed look on silver 6N2s :)

That idea sounds spot on, i think i'll get to it when I'm back from uni (few weeks or so) and i'll put some pictures up. Thanks for the idea :D

The car is getting there, more smoothing has to be done, the sidestrips, side repeaters, and splitter is next on the list. when the student loan comes in.. :ninja:

Any shots of the engine bay?

i havn't taken any yet, but i will when I'm back from uni in a couple of weeks.

Don't want to dissapoint though, the mighty 1.4 is'nt anything special!

Dude its just i have the same engine and was gonna paint the engine cover, however not sure if i have to leave this off anyway if i add an induction kit??

oh i see man.

well, i have taken the cover off completely, and fitted a BMC induction kit. But the only issue is that I'm using breathers as well, which can look messy..

Alternatively you could run an induction kit off the intake to the engine cover, could be easier..

hope this helps

Looks smart mate 8-)

just get it sitting a bit lower and your onto a winner :D

New pics, was back from uni for a couple of days and decided to give the car a good clean and remove the plate. Nothing special.

More updates in 3weeks, will have my gti front splitter fitted and colour coded, side strips deleted and depending on weather might put the modernlines back on. Thanks for looking all comments welcome
