i was just wondering if pressed number plates are legal? and if so where could i buy some?

i think some are illegal, if its the same font and same size lettering then I'm sure its legal.

I've herd (on here) that they still have to be reflective.

I'm not sure though but want some :-)

dubmeister sell legal ones - you still have to provide your documents which is a pain.

I've had metal pressed plate with UK font on my old car and my current one and had no problems at all! Really don't know what the deal with them are as you'll hear alot more opinions on this probably but mine have been fine.

did you just ask about pressed plates?

From what I've been told, according to the DVLA, if the plates have a DIN (?) number printed on them and that they are the same size font and correctly spaced, they should be fine.

Not sure about them being reflective, but I imagine it would be better if they are. =)

i think its more upto the coppers mood if they are illegal or not

if they meet all the requirements of a legal numberplate they are legal ! lol

This should help you know the in's and out's of number plate laws,as for being reflective it just means they will not be picked up by A.N.P.R Camera's.

I wouldn't trust any of them.

This whole dubmeister legal pressed plates is a load of bullshit too, it's a money making scam.

I say this because it is still a grey area, and people have been pulled over before not because of the font, but because they are metal, and that problem isn't solved by these new Dubmeister metal ones.

TBH, If you wanna run pressed plates, 20 quid for some UK font ones from europl8. Just as much chance of getting into trouble with those as the Dubmeister legal ones.

I had alot of trouble with my german font ones, never had a problem with the UK font ones.

I got pulled for my german style pressed plates with the D on, got a fixed penalty and copper said even if i bought them ones with the GB badge they'd still be illegal :/ just ordered some wolfsburg surrounds though so i can swap over for shows etc.

caus the likely hood is they are both white plates and they dont contain the issuers address and postcode engraved or displayed on the plate
