Interior Light Dismantle Help

Featured Replies

Hi guys, recently been buying all new bulbs for my 6n, already ordered my Xenon's and came to my interior light to try and find out which one I have, but no idea how to actually take the plastic casing off?

Would be good if someone could give me some advice, maybe some pictures? - be much appreciated!

On a completely different topic altogether! I recently purchased some Vibe 6x9's and 2 6x9 boxes for them to go in, when I put them in I have been planning on holding them in place using Velcro, what do you guys think to this?

Any Help would be brilliant!

The interior light, right? Do not try to prise the plastic cover off!

Instead the whole light unit pops out and there is a slide cover on the back to remove the bulb. Insert a non scratch lever between the roof fabric and the edge of the unit and carefully lever out.

Change bulb.

The bulb for it is the 'Festoon' type if that helps.

Cheers lads, both helped a lot! Saved me from tearing the plastic cover out in frustration!

I will look into the width of the festoon then, as I can see they come in many different sizes...

Thanks again

whaaaaat? complicated way or what.

flat blade screwdriver in the middle (not end) of the clear plastic cover. gently prise off. LED festoons are the best to get too! I've got a green one :)

I've taken mine off countless times and not damaged it by doing it this way. to put the plastic cover back in, just put one of the longest edges in first, then the other, not end to end.

That is EXACTLY what I am looking for! The Green Bulb!!! Thanks for the simpler and damage free way of getting to the bulb too! Much appreciated!

I don't suppose you could link me to where I can order one of the LED festoons?

Thanks

Searched my emails mate, and found the exact one that I've got. Think they do different colours too. Hope this helps.

p.s, LED bulbs only work one way around, so if it doesnt work, just give it a spin :)
