plans are in no particular order:

Green Stuff pads all round

Coilovers, so its on the floor

some nice euro alloys

also re-furb the standards

exhuast of some sort

polybush all round

replace rear speakers as 1 has blown

replace headunit as its rubbish

smooth the front bumper taking out the bump strip but leaving the headlight washers

move the plate to the grill

de-badge the rear and de-wiper

new plates

and some various interior upgrades.

the first thing i went to vw and bought was a set of mats as mine didnt have any and i hate driving without mats. after about 2 weeks they are finally here special delivery from Germany. They no longer do the GTI mats with the red lip but I'm not bothered.

22/2/10 now up to date

Since I've had the car one of the things i wanted to sooner rather than later was to service it. the service light was on and i had no receipts for a last service within the last few years. Didnt do a full service of the car just:

Oil Filter

Oil Change

Air Filter

Spark Plugs (Not yet in but will be asap)

Cabin Filter (Will take it out and hoover it tomorrow)

So glad I've done it now as the oil came out black and who knows when it was last done. Will also turn off the service light tomorrow if i remember. Runs a lot quieter now as well.

Didnt get many pics

Finished without the cover put back on, mainly so it doesnt take so long when i do the plugs

Also picked up my *free* mirror cover as well during the week so fitted that once Henry had gone and it has briefly stopped raining

Pic of the old one which got cracked when the car hit me, replaced because a VW parts mn thought he broke it when he was fiddling with my mirror :Q

Next on the list is brakes. also purchased some wheels yesterday so wach out for updates

I've finished cleaning them up for the moment ill probably come back to them and do more but all I've done is cleaned and g3'd them to get any scratches out and tuff dirt. need to wax them as well. some have been home refurbed and it shows but only if your looking closely so ill get them re done at some point.

but anyway here they are......... keskin kt3's 15" and apprently quite rare as they are 8J all round. and wrapped in virtually new toyo t1r's with slight stretch

well finally got the wheels on this weekend some pics my friend took

it shows it needs lowering big time now, but i think when its lowerd it will scrub far to much so they may go back up for sale

so if anyones interested get yr dibs in now

also sorted a new sunv visor as when i bought min it the glass was cracked

dont sell them mate! wip the tyres off and get some 175/50 tires....they should tuck nicely and you will be able to lower loads!

gave the car a quick detailing session on friday as a mate of mine is getting into detailing, so may as well take advantage of it :p

some pics through out the process. didnt polish or wax it just used detailer at the end. just good to get it realy clean again as to what it should be as it probably hasn't been properly cleaned since new 10 years ago, could see all the dirt coming out from behind the bumpstrips

also de-badged the polo off the boot the other day, unsure about the gti yet, probably will at some point

Leave the GTi on, get a 9n polo rear wiper too

yeah i know couldn't beleive how crisp it was

right well fitted some fk coilies last week and just been sorting them out all this week, also refurbed the bbs as i no longer want the keskin's.

went with a mate to get some photo's yesterday with the new outfit

i have also lowered the back more today to get it even

yeah i have taken the cntre caps out looks a lot better without, and the coilies are fitted mate

about a week late and pasted from somewhere else

after the first detailing session the car had i decided i wanted to clay it having never even seen the results of a clay bar beforeand used one. so i bought a meg's clay kit cheap at fiesta in the park. as its never been done before the was 10 years of grime so took me about 3 hours but when it comes to doing it again wont take any where near that amount of time. i didnt use any polish or wax after this just using the wuick detailer that came with the kit. i meant to polish it after but just ran out of time.

have some wheels on the way to

bought a few things going cheap at tesco yesterday

some new wipers as mine are rubbish so thought id go for the areo wipers try them out see if they are any better, and they do look better, and some tyreweld was going cheap so bought that as when i bought the car it didnt come with a jack for the spare or a wheel brace.

old wipers, found that my old ones someone had put a 21" and a 19". worked fine but put them both back to the right size

the main news is i bought a set of 5 teledials for £100 a month or 2 ago, all need a refurb and centre caps which i have already sourced but cant moan for that price. sizes are fronts 6J rears 7J, the spare is still totaly original with original tractor tyre and centre cap. no curbage on them at all.also found another bargain on ebay on sunday a full set of brand new 20mm hubcentric adaptors for the awesome price of £93 posted!

so straight on to see how the wheels sit

rears sit perfect it appers

fronts look to poke a bit more than the rear but the wheels were slightly pointing left so will probably sit fine

next month will see paint possibly tyres but wishbone bushes need doing before that

picked the wheels up on tuesday but haven't had a chance to get any pics or fit them. all i had done was polish and was them when i could. so a free day today i trialed them as i haven't got any locking bolts for the alloys yet. i went for gloss black in the end with the badge left as it was just sprayed around the edge of it. for those asking about stretch earlier same pics below to show what it means. i went for brigestoen potenza's with 165/50's all round on 6J at the front and 7J on the rear. forgot to stick the centre caps in I've realised mainly because they werent fitting tight so I've been working on them to properly sit in and stay in

these pics look high obviously because i had to jack it up and still needed to settle. when i come to fit them tuesday i will sort the height out properly. ie lower!

personally i love it and has come out better than i could have imagined, think it looks really stealthy and complements the other black bits on the car.

there is a german car meet ar brands on wednesday so they will be all on by then and ill get some decent pics
