Buyers who think sellers owe them a favour

Featured Replies

What the fuck is it with buyers that can't do thier own research,

I've had three people phone me, people on msn and people pm'ing me about the Independant Throttle Bodies I'm selling thinking they are carbs, and then thinking I'm going to tell them exactly what the need to run it on thier engines!

fuck off.

then i get people asking me if inlet manifolds will DEFINATLY fit thier engines, will it provide any power gains, are there any disadvantages.

I dont fucking know you horse cock swallowing cumdumpster.

then they get pissed off when you tell them to do thier own research and say "well its your loss, you just lost out on a sale"

well sir, i aint a fucking garage, i dont offer guaruantees, if i tell you bullshit like it will fit, and there are mega gains, you'll only come crying back to me, oh this doesnt fit, this doesnt work, where does this connect.

i will help buyers where they have a modicum of common sense, and come armed with some background knowledge on the subject they are talking about.

Just because I'm selling stuff doesnt mean I want to be your best friend, doesnt mean I want to hold your hand, doesnt mean I'm offering any other service than I have a part and you want it.

end of.

ask the right questions, get the right answers.

act the cnut and ill tell you to stick it where the sun dont shine.

PS. sorry for the rant, but the last week has pissed me off no end, culminating in a racist idiot who I've already got beef with, pming me asking me stupid questions and then getting pissed off when i told him i dont know and do your own research

Maybe not the way I'd have phrased it but agree with all the points made. I have something for sale, up to you whether you know whether you need it or it will fit etc.

its like on a listing where you CLEARLY state something, sometimes more than once, like 'no delivery' 'WILL YOU DELIVER?' or i was selling a scooter, explained it was a runs fine but electric start doesnt work, - someone asked if the kickstart works? if the electric start doesnt but the bike runs, surely it does? :|

We've all been there dude.. i had loads of phone calls about my Polo on Pistonheads..

This was from one educated individual...

"Hi i'm interested in the Polo, just looking at the advert on Pistonheads, where abouts are you based?''

*It says at the bottom: 'Walsall, West Midlands'.*

"Ok and who am i speaking to again?''

*It says just before the bottom 'Thanks for looking, Chris.' and at the very bottom: 'Contact - Chris Smith'.*

Honestly i have to question how these people survive on a daily basis....

its down to peoples own lazyness and ignorance, quite simply.

Worst one i get EVERYTIME i list a set of alloys on ebay

"will these fit....."

no idea I'm selling them not fitting them, find your cars information and compare the 2!

guy,i would actually stab you in the eye with my cock.

would i even notice?

i told them all how you would need to make them fit, and then they said ooh sounds a bit like hard work and extra expense! its like arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!! using 80 quid bike ITBS will save you about 800 over jenveys, but you still need the aftermarket engine management to run it, and the savvyness to actually connect everything up and make it work.

people asking me my location fucks me off too, i also put my address in my avatar thing and say where it can be collected in my ads but still get people asking.

i dont mind helping people out, but its just when they expect to get spoon fed everything.

whever i used to buy anything and was after something particular id do some checking, get some part numbers, check on vagcat for other modesl they came on and then came armed with all the facts i need to ensure what I'm buying is exactly what i want.

the worst time ever was selling a mk1 golf to a lad, who every single day rang me up asking me questions about it. i told the kid when he bought it that i bought it cheap, ragged it around for 3-4 months and that was it, i didnt service it, didnt take a wheel off, opened the bonnet very rarely, and anything thats been done on the car was done previously, he would fphone me up asking me shit thats in a haynes manual. after about a month i just told him that he hadnt paid for any aftercare service and he could politely fuck off.

after that affair i would far rather scrap any car now than sell them to anyone else just for the easy life

Common case with most people tbh.

Buy and ask questions after. the guy with the 2.0 GTI engine was a prime example of this.

I always do research before i buy anything.

Its OK saf people still ask how i managed 100bhp+ from a car i sold 2 years ago and 5 cars since.

Hope did you manage? :p

I know how you feel Saf. I was selling the Polo last year and soooo many mainland peeps were on for coming to get it then:

"Where are you mate?"

"Armagh"

"where's that?"

"30mile outa belfast, I could meet you near Belfast tho"

"Ooooh, you're in NI. Nah make I wouldn't go that far"

"Well why contact me when it says I'm in NI in the fucking ad!!"

Connor

Just wanted to make you feel sad that know one wants to visit N.I.

Edit: Most people don't realise you have access to a .uk website. Scot's have the same issue.

you think people coming back asking how to do stuff with something u've sold them is bad...listen to this

my first polo i purchased 5 years ago, i brought it for 2 grand from some dude about 20 mins away from me, it had a smoothed boot, a little bodykit, lexus lights, exhaust etc but all in all was a nice car

he stalked me for the whole 16 months of owning the car, driving past my house looking at all the new mods. i fitted coileys, new keskin wheels, mk5 red rears, projector headlamps etc

nice person then starts calling me day in day out asking me to sell the car back to him...for 1600!!! his reasons being the mileage is now higher and its a year older, i was like fuck off and leave me alone

i then wrote the car off  and he saw it in the driveway and wanted to chav bits off of it like the smoothed boot an red rears

I have a part and you want it.

Hey Saf i bought some parts off you and i haven't been able to get rid of you since.

What about that guy who bought your mk1? lol
