How much do you's recon it will be for me to insure my car, I tried compare the market and so did my dad and we found out it gives faulse prices way to high

K reg ill be 17 years old when i start drriving it no convictions or nothing like that

comparethemarket is saying prices like £4000 and £6000

also no mods

i just insured my 1 litre polo, I'm 20 and have two years no claims and they want £830! most of my quotes were about £1200...

I'm guessing about £2500 at least. 17 year old lads tend to get shafted on insurance prices because they are a very high risk group.

There are a couple of things that you could do to decrease your premium a bit though:

Do the Pass Plus course within 6 weeks of passing your test. It knocked £200 of my first premium because it counts as an extra year of no claims during your first year.

Add somebody who has been driving for years with no convictions or accidents as a second driver to your policy. I'm looking at getting a 1.0l Polo 6N and adding my mum as a second driver knocks 25% off the premium. Make sure that you're the main driver if its your car though, otherwise your insurer might refuse to pay out in the event of an accident due to fronting.

Don't modify it until you've got a least a years no claims under your belt. If your insurer finds out that you have modified your car without telling them, they will invalidate your policy and refuse to pay out if you try to make a claim.

Try and get a limited mileage policy - less miles means less risk.

Park your car in a garage at night if possible.

Oh and those price comparison sites are crap. You need to ring around and find a specialist broker.

Insurance is a joke mate. I took out a policy on my last car and cancelled after 3 months as it cost me 2700 on a 1.4 16v corsa sport. (CHEAPER THAN A NACKER POLO!)

but i dont care what it costs me now because i need that 1 years no claims!

Renewed my insurance yesterday;

19yo, license 8 months, 2 yrs NCB, 0 convictions etc, '96 6n 1.0 - £650 fully comp :-)

my mates one of em has a 1.4 ford fiesta and he pays £1300 with quinn direct TPFT and the other has a 1.1 pug 106 and he pays £1100 the lad with the pug is 17 on his own policy TPFT with churchill. I'm going TPFT my self i recon ill get it at about 1200 at the most as my mates get stuff like 1300 on a 1.4 :)
