hey guys I'm 17 years old and live in cornwall, i have a v reg 1.4 16v polo, and looking for cheap insurance under £2000 pounds, but without any no claims discount its so hard to find any that are quite cheap, anybody have any ideas on insurance companies and stuff?? would be alot of help.... If you do pass plus, that may help. The Cooperative do cheap insurance, but dont like modified cars. So if you want to go with them, you'll have to stay stock, or not tell them.

I've heard that Co-op is coilover friendly, isn't it true?

Just rang them up and they said that they will not accept coilovers. The lady who I spoke on the phone didn't know what I was talking about so she went to ask someone else and they said that they don't accept it.

unfortunately mate first year or so your gonna get bummed, u just gotta bend over and take it.

Nah co op don't like any mods. Told them my alloys were bigger than standard and that was the end of that ):

I'm a first time driver, with a red 9N with coilovers and 17" alloys and custom exhaust. All declared, insurance £2170.

I put myself as the main driver, and my mum (who's had her license 15+ years and 5+ no claims) as a named driver. without her on the policy, it was like £4500+, WTF.

The policy is a 10 month accelerator, so after that time i'll get 1 years no claims, so my insurance will drop by roughly half.

The catch is i'm 20, and my excess is £350, but i guess that's fair enough.
