Featured Replies

This is my 1990 bready. Been working on her a while now, probably should have made a WIP thread a while back...

When I first got her, just slapped on some speed disks and some chrome door handles.

Bought myself an old rockercover off eBay and polished up, nice and shiny.

got rid of the nasty black side strips

gave the engine bay a nice clean

Found some nice looking alloys on eBay. Apparently the are MSW (OZs) ceres... the print on the back of the wheels say "86"... Age perhaps?

Got an amazing fabric sunroof installed by Bristol Sunroofs, cheers dad for the present! Oh and a 60x40 drop.

in the state it's in atm, the rear arches were scrubbing a lot, so I'm now making them wider.

Hope you like it so far.

Sunroof is by far my favourite part,

The spoiler I just wasn't keen on, when I first got the car it suited it, but when I lowered it and put on the alloys it made it look too sporty for what it actually is

Fair enough, I thought they were an optional extra but they are not listed as an option the 1989 Volkswagen price list however I have seen many C & CL models and a 1989 Ranger with them fitted.

I'd really have no idea, I don't know much about the trim levels and stuff, to be very honest, I've only ever seen two other mk2's on the road so I can't really tell the differences

I've only seen five mk2s on the road, one of which is mine but I've been collecting images of them so I can see the differences in trim levels etc.

Most Breadvan's '86 onwards got the rear spoiler, except the poverty spec cars like the Fox.

Dare I ask how much the roof job was, as I know others will be thinking the same question ;)

Wow, sun roof looks awesome. I'm going to be controversial here and say it's a shame to butcher such a nice example of a clean 'van. But it's your car and the work looks good, so keep it up!

P.s i liked the moon discs

Open air breadvan ftw :)

Looks cool mate

Well done for binning the spoiler - earlier spoilerless breadvans are much nicer to look at from behind, never quite understood why they made them standard on the later models.

Joe

For the whole job it was around £900, fitted and labour, it's awesome, all electric, looks like it's part of the car :)
