Hello fellow Polofanatics, my names Sean I've been lurking on here for a couple of years now.. i thought i would up build of my piece of shit polo

The Story Starts i bought the car in August 2010, Thinking i could make a project/daily out of it..Modding as funds allow.

The body is pretty ropey as you can see, especially the n/s rear arch

A couple of days after i got thought i would inspect the rear quarter, Angle grinder came out and looks like its been side swiped in the past and has got new wing and door :-(

So naturally i wanted it fixed, so me like a fool went to a cowboy bodyshop in millwall he did it with a torch and hanger wire to weld it on:lol:

He F'd it up.. :x

I haven't got any pics, but i wasn't happy with the height so i whipped the front coils off and took the helper spring out and chopped the bumpstops in half, all the way down. The car was a teeth chattering, back breaking, bouncy castle. And also a automatic female tit bouncing machine

I had a dilemma. I wanted to go lower but couldnt think of anything other than chopping a coil off. i thought F that. Then i came across William Cole's Mk3 golf Cab on E38 and he flipped the mount his coils to get more drop and a bit of travel back.

So i went to a local engineer to do the job he said £100 deal, got them back put it on the car now i am aas low as i was before if not abit lower and 30mm of thread left. I still need to chop the ARB out to see the full potential but everything seems Aokay :-D

So to get up to date with current mod's and future plans...

Current

Hottuning coilovers:Helpers removed,10mm Bumpstop, Flipmount mod

Standard exhaust with middle box removed (sound's good for what it is, might get a decat for more noise who knows)

Chassis Notch

Boot full of free Bass 8-)

Future Not my pics but to give you a visual...

Get Rid of ARB

Fit bbs rz 15x7(winter) with 165/45/15

Refurb OZ Turbo Painted centre maybe teal with polished lips and gold bolts 15x7.5 with 165/45/15 or 50(not sure)

IMG_1728copy.jpg

And Space both wheels to suit.

I want the car stance to be flush/camberd fitment arch tucking tyre to the rim or as close as i can get it..Just like Will's golf cabby.

I'm sure i can acheive this amount of lows and wont stop until i do. it will be a daily, in peckham/dulwich if anyone has driven in that area will know the road's are shit, Speedbumps for days.. :-p

Hope you somewhat enjoyed reading this essay of an Intro :-D

Glad to see some comments Good or bad.. Will update as and when..Cheers

You'll be able to be flush or even tuck rim with 15's,

My mates nearly done it with 14's!

Look forward to this!! Get some pictures of the current height and could you show one on the coils?

very nice mate, I'm going for the same sort of lows on turbos too ha.

what et ones you got? and are you sure that there 7.5? so they already have 2" dish all round?

not feeling that dirty yellow mate. not really sure what colour would look good but not that yellow!

anyways nice to meet you mate, looking forward to seeing the outcome of this.

gold!

O really nice to see your progress mate..you going for the same suspension route as me?

The yellow is filler primer, its just a mock build up... and there ET27 with a 1.5" dish..

gold!

I dunno man, what kinda gold you thinking, BBS?

What about a nice Purple?(the paint has a purple metallic in it)

Turquoise/Teal? Baby Blue? Fuck Know's

The cabby and 3 are both on air if I'm not mistaken :|

  • Author

No Air in that pic mate

I'm sure the 3 definitely was on air?

As he put it onto his estate that got written off recently..

Both cars were static at that point,

The Mk3 is on air now, And no idea were the cabby is.

Also with the turbo's, Polished, Silver or Grey are the only good colours, Class ;)

Turbo's should be Gold imo, would look schweeeeet.

Ahh, yeah the 3 is gone now..

He brought a pass estate which then got written off by another carless driver..

I'm good mates with the 3 driver and that thing was lower static that it was on air haha. Absolutely mental car and he is an idiot for getting rid of it. Both Wills Cab and Alex's mk3 were running custom coilovers where they flipped the mount and then welded it mounting point further up the strut to give a lot more thread

Plans sound good man :). tucking rim on 15's shouldn't just getting arch mods to make it turn will be haha. Did you raise the mounting point when you flipped it on the coilover or did you just flip it?

I had so much trobule with those guys keeping it a secret, with no pics and what not.. at first i flipped it and raised the mounting point too much it hit the CV.. So what the guy did from what i can remeber is he cut off he bottom of the strut took 2mm off, rewelded a plate. flipped the mount and raised 7mm.

tombrookes I'm sure youve done the flipmod to your car aswell? Would be nice to hear how our coils differ from eachother..
