I've decided its time to sell off all my afh engine parts & spares as i dont have the time to finish off building it due to work commitments. I've spent hundreds on rebuilding it new crankshaft bearings , shells , piston rings , genuine vw oil pump , new crankshaft bolts , engine block re honed & chemically cleaned , crankshaft inspected lightend & balanced with a mk3 flywheel, new front oil seal,painted the engine block, brand new g40 clutch , cylinder head stripped , skimmed , de coked , eight new exhaust valves , heagasket set still in packaging from gsf car parts . I'm sure theres probally more that I've missed I've got a whole album of pictures of from when i got it , taking it apart ,sending it to the machinist & back again if anyone wants to see it p.m me & i will send the link to them. also all parts will come the receipts that i have for them when i bought them or had machine work done to them

engine as it is at the moment is engine block ,new bearings , shells fitted , crankshaft & oil pump fitted all new cranshaft bolts fitted & torqued to correct torques

price wise for the short block I'm after £225 thats for the engine block, crank ,pistons ,flywheel, oil pump which is cheap as this a fully recondioned short block engine !

cylinder head stripped & skimmed NO cams , valves or tappets I'm after around £120 ono

camshafts I'm looking to get £50 for the pair of them with pulleys

i have a few other afh engine bits such as dizzy , exhaust manifold , engine breather box ,water pipe at the back of the block , fully polished rocker cover with the 16v dohc painted in flame red the same colour as the block

open to offers on things just not daft ones ! also interested in p/x for a set of 15 inch alloys something nice as I'm rebuilding a 325i sport at work any questions drop me a p.m

I've not got a part number for the tappets I went into my local tps & I think they were working out at like 16.50 a tappet !! Always best to try a local engine rebuilder or recondioting your old ones there's a guide on club gti if I rember correctly but it's fiddley busssines

I have indeed mate its been re skimmed , de coked & all ports soda blasted clean I've got the invoice for the work as well with the amount they skimmed the head by on it

Whats left?

Head , cams , valves & springs , mk4 flywheel , exhaust manifold , dizzy , engine breather , water pipe off the back of the block , there probally more but I can't rember at the moment

I couldn't tell you without seeing it you wont know how bad it is until you remove the old head it could need just a few new valves , pressure testing & a re skim & the valves lapping in etc but then again It could of chewed the head up & thens its scrap really Best pulling it off taking a few pictures & posting them up on here so you can get a few options from people on here
