Hey all. Heard of this fly eyes kit stuff, cheaper than lamin-x. Just wondered if anybody used it? Any advice on what light tint film is best, if there is any other companies? Thanks, luke.

You'll need good lights, flyeyes made my headlights shit

You'll fail even if you have good lights, it can't be on it lights itself, not how bright they are. It's anything that effects the output and it's a fail.

Paint the non-reflective bits on the inside black then..

its not a fail from what i understand from those regs

possible reasons for failing with tint on:

"inoperative or 50% of the light source illuminating"

you must have tinted your headlights silly amounts to reduce the light by 50%

"NOT VISIBLE FROM A REASONABLE DISTANCE DUE TO EXCESSIVE DAMAGE, DETERIATION OR HAVING PRODUCTS ON THE LENS OR LIGHT SOURCE"

this doesnt mean having products on your lens makes it fail, its means having products on the lens which makes the light produced not visible from a reasonable distance, in other words dont tint your lights too much e.g. using gloss black paint

but if you do tint id recommend uprating the bulbs to be on the safe side, i have some osram nightbreakers and better sidelights fitted and I'm pretty damn sure id pass an mot with my dark lamin-x on and i dont expect to get pulled by the police either

I have just fitted flyeyes kit to my front and rears. It did not effect my headlights to a level which I have noticed.

According to the paperwork that came with the kit the comany work in tandom with the MOT testing people to ensure that the product is ok for road use.

IMO it is fine and I would recommend it.

BTW I tinted front and rears but the fronts I tinted my headlight protectors not the headlights themselves.

It will come down to the discretion of the indivual testers, like most things are

Have FlyEyes fitted and mine passed the MOT. All these new MOT regulations are way too vague, nobody seems to really understand them 100%.

I passed MOTs with flyeyes, the rules only changed this month

i used flyeyes over my hid's and admittedly they were yellow hid's but my lights wernt affected and they passed the MOT :)

got spray tint on the front of mine, and had fly eye on my hells on my old vr6 which passed mot.
