1994 Polo Coupe, £650 o.n.o

Featured Replies

Make: Volkswagen.

Model: Polo Coupe 1.0, 5 speed.

Year/Reg: 1994, M478 SJX.

Mileage: 54,000.

MOT: 12 months MOT. Some previous MOT's to back up 54,000.

Tax: 6 months tax.

Good points:

Brand new exhaust. (£70)

Clear indicators and side repeaters. (£35)

2x Front wheel bearings. (£35)

Brand new gear lever set. (£10)

GT steering wheel (£25)

New Bosch Lambda sensor. (£60

Kenwood AUX C.D player, fitted. (£30)

Passenger side CV boot. (£10)

Brand new battery.

Very low mileage at just above 54,000.

12 months MOT.

No major rust spots.

8 Ball gear stick, SO RETRO!

Mint interior, no tears or burns.

Genuine G40 rear lights and door cards.

Good bodywork for the age.

Recent respray, car SHINES! 8-)

Very cheap to insure.

Cheap to tax.

I get 60mpg in it, around 50 in town.

Easy car to drive and more than ideal for a new driver.

Turns over first time, EVERY time.

Bad points:

The car has one patch of rust on the passenger side door, has never bothered me but if the door was changed it would be more than unnoticeable. The front bumper has a small scrape on the drivers side corner again hasn't really bothered me. The tyres are low but not yet legal as they made it through the MOT. Both front wheel arches has a small amount of bubbling on and the rear has a very very small bit down towards the bottom of the arch. I am being as honest as possible right and and I really am making it sound worse than it really is for an 18 year old car. I have seen several other MK3 polos and without sounding too big headed the condition of mine is beautiful compared to some of the others out there.

Location: Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham, DL14.

Price drop to £700, would love a swap for a mk2 golf, 1.3 or 1.6 only.

You said you want something older? howabout a 1973 beetle 1200?

Will take some photos tomorrow of the damage and keep up to date. let me know if you are interested. I would do a swap and give you some money if you wanted though?

Spot on mate, how much cash are we talking?

Dunno yet dude. Would have to talk to my mum as she is lending me the money. Also the back seat has been stripped down. It's really a project car mind. needs alot of time and money put into it to make things right.

Hmm, what's it need doing?

From the accident it needs a new front apron and wing. and headlight fixing. needs some work on the paint work. and the backfire needs sorting out along with the carb needs re-jetting.
