so to start the story i had a mk3 breadvan which i put a 16v lump into:

was then offered a swap which i couldnt turn down, it was a mk1 1.5 carbed jetta on banded steels 8-)

i never much liked the steels on it though tbh so they were soon replaced with minilites

At least the steels fitted properly -__-

Woah! ABF Mk1 jetta, that's a pretty unstoppable combo.

Like the minilites, but they need some work to get them fitting right!

minilites are now gone, its sat on 6n steels

Sweet!! By any chance did you swap this at the polo show?

yeahh that was me

Lovely car 8-)

What knobhead put a Golf front end on it though?

  • Author

previous owner az, the jetta end was rotten and he couldnt afford the bits for it, so in a way he did it a favour, tbh its growing on me now though :)

the funny thing is i always wanted a mk1 golf with jetta front and got the opposite

That would be me  you should've seen it before!

iv seen pics on instagram, and I'm pretty fond of the golf front now tbh 8-)

Try and source jetta lights ol, other than that, I love this. :-)

iv looked, and the cheapest iv found on ebay was £85 for a passenger light

That would be me  you should've seen it before!

Fair enough, I can see why you might have done it if you couldn't afford the proper bits

Was absolutely nothing salvageable from the original front? Surely the only way everything would be fucked is if it had had a big smash and damaged all the glass/trim. If it was just the front panel that was rotten then I can't see why everything should be replaced. :-(

from the pics iv seen az it was all rotten  wings, front panel, the lot :(

looks sweet now get it sprayed ;) hahaha

This. But get a Jetta front end first

needs mot first really, and need some welding for that  but once its on the road il look at front end and paint, as that link above doesnt seem to be too expensive (though they dont seem to have front panels :( )

Just find one thats breaking and raid it. Even if its got a bit of rust on the wings/front panel its still worth getting and repairing. Just make sure its reflected in the price!

they dont do the frount pans none does I've been looking sins i got mine 3 years ago youll have to cut one off a car

love the wheels by the way :-D

yes yes ollystani - now get them painted something other than black or polish them lips baybee!
