1993 Polo GT conversion, very clean!

Featured Replies

Welcome to my advert for my 1993 Polo Coupe GT converted.

The car has recently been converted to a GT, just this weekend as well as a full service with new oil, plugs, water pump, timing belt kit & a full fluids flush! The engine has 74,000 miles on when i bought it whereas i didn't get no history with it i did get the clocks which do show the mileage and the clocks don't look like they have been tampered with. The car is still down as a 1.0 on the logbook which was on 66,000 miles with a whole bunch of history to back up the genuine mileage. Reason the car is still down as a 1.0 is i haven't had time to change it, iv started my new job this week which is another reason i am looking for a more economical car to use daily.

It will be up to the new owner to change this..

Make: Volkswagen.

Model: Polo Coupe Boulevard.

Year/Reg: 1993, L770 BFK.

Mileage: Shell is on 66,000, GT engine is on 74,000 miles.

MOT: 12 Months MOT.

Tax: 6 Months Tax.

Recent work carried out:

Brand new waxoiled fuel tank. (Cost £70)

New handbrake cable.

New brake pads.

Full service including oil, plugs, timing belt kit, water pump & full fluids flush.

Interior Modifications:

Grey Volkswagen Corrado front seats, very comfortable.

GT/G40 Door cards.

GT clocks. (Showing 74,000 miles.)

GT steering wheel.

Exterior Modifications:

ATS Classics in white, staggered. 13", 6J down front, 7J rear on 165 55 13 tyres.

Powerflex ARB blocks, handles well.

Clear indicatiors.

Smoked Scirocco side repeaters.

Late spec rear lights.

Colour coded rear bumper.

Performance Modifications:

GT engine on 74,000 miles.

4 branch manifold.

Powerflow exhaust.

Good points:

Full GT conversion with 74,000 miles.

Very clean shell.

12 months MOT.

6 Months Tax.

Less than a year old, bought brand new, JOM 60/60 suspension kit.

Endless mods, externally and internally.

Brilliant paintwork for a 20 year old car.

Strong pulling engine.

Never misses a beat, starts first time.

Had over £400 spent in the last month for modifications and the MOT.

Bad points:

Bumper is painted blue but i will replace this for a mint front bumper for the next buyer.

Scratch on the boot hatch.

No speakers and the stereo isn't wired up.

The passenger wing could do with being replaced as it has a dent and the paint has started to chip around the arch.

Non matching interior. (never bothered me but worth mentioning.)

No history for the GT engine apart from the clocks.

Location: Bishop Auckland, County Durham, DL14.

These pictures are before the ATS Classics and engine was fitted.

Price might seem high but I'm not looking to sell mate, just seeing what interest I get for swaps! Don't want to get rid to be honest just seeing what interest I get :)

£995 might seem high but engine has 70k on, shell is mint, full powerflow exhaust and a 4-2-1 manifold.

Engine set up alone is worth up to £500 and you see people everyday trying to sell 1.0's with a set of banded steels on for £1000 so personally I think it's worth every penny I'm asking for it!

I'd possibly be interested if you put more Tax and MOT on it.

I've got an S reg Audi A4 tdi with 155k (ish)

18" wheels that i started refurbing but the weather got bad and dark nights came so 2 alloys are black and 2 are silver.

Its a crackin big car for long jouneys and i use it for doing deliverys and get 40MPG average.

Okay so I got confirmed my job working further away so I can't justify keeping this clean shell to run daily!

I would be interested in any sort of swaps for a diesel or decent economical petrol. Not bothered about mods etc but must be fairly cheap to insure also.

Audi again of you fancy shopping around for a cheaper insurance quote.

Excellent big car for the longer commute to work.

Will swap for a tidy 6n/6n2. Anything out there at all? Price negotiable with/without parts..

Would you sell your coilies seperately?

Coilovers are now sold.

Car is £950 with gt engine (but not fitted)

Or £700 for car alone as it stands.

Bump! Open to offers on both prices now as I need a daily for my new job! What's the worst I can say..

Offers people!

Hi there. Jusy to clarify. Is the GT engine fitted or not as different parts of this thread seem to suggest different things?

Also if the GT engine is not fitted, has it ever been fitted in this car? Have you ever had it running?

Cheers, Russ

It is not fitted, came from a running gt with 76k miles on it.

Sorry for the confusion
