Interior: Magnum pro sport bucket seats, Luke 3" FIA 4 point belts, plummed in extinguisher, OMP steering wheel, OMP navigators footrest, Gt clocks, Flocked dash, "works" centre console with extra guages/switches, Quaife gearknob

ICE and Security:erm....no ICE, and you need a key to get in...also has FIA master cut off switch

Comments: still a work in progress. i am looking for a road car so i can get on with this as a project. over the next year i hope to have it caged and some of the shell stitch welded and hopefully some more power. Hope you like the pics:

that air intake system is from a mark3 golf, I've got the same on my polo too

tbh tho mk3 dash is much better to use than the mk2!!!!lol

i really carnt w8 to get my mk2 done now!!! (running a std 1L atm shoud i do an engine swap??)

I like this car as it shows us what it's like to do something many of us wouldn't want to do, but would like to if it wasn't for the minor problem it might cause in daily life.

might look weird, but it works. i'd rather have nice cold air coming in through that hole in the inner wing than just inducting hot air off the back of the engine.

nowt wrong with a bit of home engineering either!

anyhoo, ignoring the posts by polon00b, I've made a bit of progress in my "Blog"

first off, some stainless bolts on my ARB blocks, and also my ARB clamps zinc'd (thanks to spaniel for hooking me up)

really wish i'd got the plates done now aswell, i think i will take them off and take them back with me to get done as they seam to let the whole setup down! or i may remake them in stainless....**ponders**

i also fitted my new stainless bolts into my Vernier pulley i made

then i cracked on with fitting my spotlamp brackets!

designed and made them myself from 6mm aluminium and TIG'd. these should allow me to run 4 spots in a 2up 2 down fashion, although some bumper choppage is required! i think I'm going to get the brackets anodised black as they're a bit bling for my liking.

thats pretty much it recently, i discovered today that the tin panel that the rad sits on is proper goosed, so i think I'm going to make a new one from 2"x1" oblong box section and get it powder coated

i also finished stripping out the back

and a random front end shot before i kicked off today

finished chopping the bumper to clear the spotlamp brackets today

now i just need to finish rebuilding my spotlamps and get something that will actually hold my front number plate on, rather than it falling off on the first corner

so, i went and robbed some M8 bolts from down the unit and refitted my spotlamp brackets

then i set about making my grille "race spec" by adding some speed holes

this is to allow more air into the engine bay, especially when I've got my big spots fitted they block off alot of the grille.

i then started fitting my quick release twin spare wheel carrier. started by drilling out the spot welds

then gave it a bit of adjustment with the worrying stick, followed by some wiggling by hand to break the remains of the welds off

followed by some tin bashing to level out the floor so i can bolt it in, and were good to go

really pleased with the outcome of it, looks really good and is really quick and easy to use. i then set about fitting the genuine VAG first aid kit and holder i got off spaniel

looks pretty good i think. i spent the rest of the day tidying up the garage and trying to fix one of the tube lights which just stopped working. oh and i also ditched a couple more bits of interior trim (door bins etc etc)

nice work pinch face. bet youll be lookin forward to havin a flat tyre now!

haha yeh cant wait. although i haven't got a jack at the moment which might be a bit of an issue

Looking nice. I really like it. What are you doing about power wise, are you going to stick a bigger lump in there or you keeping the AAV?

AAV will be stopping for now, unless the right engine comes along at the right price. tbh i'd rather spend the money on a decent box with a diff and big shafts then get any more power yet
