new car! Poslow 1.2

Featured Replies

hello guys, had this car for a couple of weeks now and thought id start a thread on it. its a 54 2005 polo 9n 1.2 E 3 cylinder about as powerful as a manual whisk but it does the job! it has 70000 on the clock, lowered on springs all round, plan to get coilovers on the front very shortly, 15" teamdynamic diftz, angle eye head lights, cupra splitterm, letterbox exhaust. it was previously Lee9n's off here, he sold it to someone and it developed a miss fire, easy fix but i got it for £525, couldn't say no to it for that price, I'm refurbing the wheels at the moment decided to do them purple, there not the best wheels but there all i have at the moment so i may aswell work with them and see if they end up looking half decent, was thinking about maybe going with a purple checker roof and maybe bonnet, i need to get the front bumpstrip smoothed aswell, plan on getting some audi tt wheels in the future and 9n3 rears, possibly a leather interior, wont be a fast but will keep you updated, heres some pictures of it, the car is currently sat on a set of steelies.

Hi mate, nice car like what's already been done to it, really like the purple on black idea seen it done a few times works well on the wheels IMO. I'll keep an eye on this one for sure. :)

So fixed the exhaust today as i got defeated by a speed bump, only went to put some petrol in and ended up carrying the exhaust in the car on the way home haha! also give the steels a quick coat of paint! think it looks okay with them on now! there only temporary till i get tyres for the team dynamics.

can't believe you sprayed your wheels on the car!!! that is so dangerous, you'll have paint all in your brakes! also you have fitted your steering wheel the wrong way round, it's meant to be a bit deep dish...

apart from that looks good man

  • Author

brakes are getting painted up anyways! also steering wheel is fitted correctly.

paint on the brakes? you do realise itl come straight off when he presses them yeah?

^hopefully he means the hubs/bell of the disc's. This will have drums on the rear....

The previous owner had a build thread on here before I'm sure, shame you no longer have the alloys, You should get some wheels and proper lows ;)

This is the thread by lee http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=169787

i do still have the alloys, just the tyres are bald! hopefully getting new tyres end of the month along with a set of coilovers then i can get some decent lows :p

Thinking my wheels maybe up for sale soon....

so today i decided i hated the white steelies and as i cant afford tyres for the alloys yet id spray them a different colour, was originally going to go with a purple theme but I've done this previously, so ended up doing this!

wasnt keen at first but really starting to like it, tempted to do the roof aswell! also sprayed a few interior parts as the interiors are pretty dull

could anyone tell me what size tyres would give me a nice bit of stretch on the back? I'm looking at getting 20 mm spacers and some camber shims, was thinking a 175 55 15 would look decent on the rear? there 7j by the way, any help appreciated also want to know what you guys think of the colour! cheeers!

tried looking on tyrestretch.com?

175 55 15 doesnt look too bad, its barely stretch but the sidewall is flush with the rim so it looks quite nice. You can get 175 50 15 as well which could look a bit nicer.

Right not updated this in a while, so far I've got new wheels finally, lime green audi pepper pot, not a massive fan of these but got them for £100 quid with 4 brank new tyres, two proxies and 2 nankang ns2, so not a bad deal really and suit the car quite well. will be looking at some 16's or 17 inch wheels in the next month or so. also got the front coilovers, still need to take the helpers out as they dont drop it as much as id like, rear seats are aslo back in, along with a new steering wheel and finally the checkered bonnet what wont be to everyones taste but its different! oh and the espace splitter, not seen one of these on a 9n before.
