So I picked this up just under a fortnight ago, and it's basically my first car (that's mine and I'm able to drive) so I'm a little excited. Pretty low miles for the year (2002) and was fun to drive, so grabbed it.

Had a couple of mods on it (some that I like, some that I don't) when I bought it, here are some shots after it's first clean:

So the first change was pretty easy! Removed the "Polo" badge from the back.

Got a couple of bits arriving this week so hopefully will have a few more updates this weekend!

Yeah I think Feb 2002! Just loved the colour and the way it drove (despite the suspension being utterly fucked).

So I picked up a set of front fogs with surrounds and switch for a decent price and fitted them this weekend. Subtle difference, but looks much nicer! Light is pretty yellow, but I'll deal with that in the future!

Decided I'd do a nice "easy" job and change the oil and filter. Turns out this little bastard was fused on with rust and hadn't been changed in years. Not even the screwdriver technique got it off, in the end had to buy a 30mm socket and use 10 degree turns with socket rotation each time to get it off. Nightmare!

Love the colour of this polo blue is amazing I like the induction kit the way you have it if u add piping lower down it can cause problems with water and stuff

So it's been a busy few weeks! Firstly, it started misfiring on the way to work one day- took it to the garage and mentioned the induction kit, they seemed to think the HT leads were cheap and were being knocked around by the carbon air box. My brother and I took a second look and it turned out the HT leads were sparking straight onto the carbon fibre! So had to remove the air box and move the filter...

Tell me , where abouts did you pick up your induction kit? and do you notice much of a difference ? Am thinking about purchasing one myself

Got a 6n one off here and bought the hosing. The alloy section was made up for me by a company!

Haven't noticed a huge difference, but only had the car about three weeks before I put it on!

So I haven't had much time recently as I'm back in work, but picked up a set of GTI suspension from a user on here to swap for the shocks. Decided I wouldn't bother putting on the old springs and wait until I get some better ones. A little comparison of the condition...

Progress has been pretty slow of late, but managed to pick up a GTI grille and get it fitted (possibly the easiest thing I've ever done in my life).

Got some new wheels on the way and a set of Cupra half leathers so will hopefully have some tasty new updates soon...

So I'll get the boring stuff out of that way- changed the coolant because it was brown, and also because I needed to change the temp sensor that was faulty. It was starting really sluggishly and when the AA came round the other day (don't ask) they tested the battery and it needed changing, so did that too. Picked up a sizeable Bosch on offer from EuroCarParts.

Now for the fun stuff - set of Ibiza Cupra half leathers arrived, got them at a decent price from eBay. Only took a little bit of modification (to get off the old brackets) but then straight in! They certainly look better, and they're infinitely more comfortable. This should mean no more back pain if I'm driving more than 30 minutes!

Also tidied up the USB socket for the head unit by modifying one of the dash switches. Not the neatest of jobs, but better than a hole with a wire coming out!

I'm hoping to get the OZ SuperTurismos I ordered a few weeks ago refurbished this weekend!
