Gearbox leak...

Featured Replies

I recently picked up yesterday that my car is leaking oil and it's form the gearbox area. I recently changed the head gasket and had the head re-skimmed so I know it isn't that. But it's gotten worse oil seems to be pissing out. I am going to get it on the ramps tomorrow at work and see what it is. Is this a common problem? Is it the shaft seal or?

Selector shaft seal is the most common one.

New seals are availabe and easy enough to install.

I've also had a box leak from the reverse switch, so might be worth a check too.

A common area is the selector shaft seal at the rear of the box

Thanks for this also I was thinking of the reverse light switch. So hopefully it's not too big of an issue.

I believe it's the shaft selector seal. Got it on the ramps today. Anyone know where to order this part? I went into moto direct and they don't have any for that type
