Having troubles putting images in your posts?

Featured Replies

First off you need to open up a photobucket account. Photobucket is a website designed for free image hosting. They give you a certain amount bandwidth every year (can't remember how much but its generally enough). First you need to goto www.photobucket.com and register an account.

After you have done this you need to log into your account. Now you can either create separate folders for separate things. Or you can just upload them into one big folder. Its up to you what you do. To upload the photo you need to click on the 'browse' button.

Once you do this it will bring up a box which has all the documents and folders on your computer in it. Find the image you wish to upload, find the image you want and click 'open' then click 'upload'

once you click 'upload' it will take a while and upload the image.

If you scroll down the page a little bit you will see a thumbnailed version of your image. It will have 4 little titles under it. You will need the code the says 'IMG Code'. IMG codes are the ones you need to use on any forum. Highlight the text in the box and copy it (either press Ctrl + C or Right mouse click > Copy).

6.jpg

Once you have copied the link, come back to your post on the forum and paste the link into the reply box (Ctrl + V or Right mouse click + paste).

Add an text or more images that you may want and when you hit 'add reply' (or 'post new topic' if your creating a new one) it will show the image itself and not a link to the image.

Easy as pie when you know how eh?!

Any questions feel free to ask and I'll do my best to help (if you post here instead of PMing me others may help you quicker than I can).

I'm struggling with attaching photo's - i will set up a photobucket soon i know!

Basically every time i go to post a picture, the attachment upload tool tells me i have already used 9.9mb of the 10mb attachment allowed... Before I've attached anything! Can anyone tell me why this is? I means i can hardly ever post pictures!

Go to 'My Controls' near the top of the page, then click on 'Manage Your Attachments' under the 'Options' part near the bottom left.. Here should be a list of all your attachments (I haven't got any to try it out on!) and I expect you can delete them from there, freeing up your space.

Photobucket ftw tho!

why particular thing is stopping you from putting images up mate, have you been copying the correct code

ie

[img*]your image address.jpg[/img*]

dont forget to remove the * from the img code bit, i just p ut them in as the forum wont display what I'm trying to show you (as it would be loooking for an image at "your image address.jpg" which is garbage...

Use the print screen button on your keyboard. Then go into any image editing program (like photoshop or paint) and paste which will give you what was on the screen at the time.

Any idea how I can make the picture smaller? :(

Smaller? If you use photobucket or a similar account instead of your attachment space, it does it automatically for you.

Use tinypic.com they dont have bandwidth issues and you can upload as many as you want for free with no registration dont know why everyone uses photobucket everyone on forums uses up the bandwidth then you cant see photos whats the point in that.

TINYPIC.COM

Never understood tinypic.

I've got a few pics on there but not a clue how to find them again

Photobucket is the most reliable, if the website can't deal with it, then it needs upgrading!

The site works fine, almost every picture I've ever posted has been hosted on photobucket.

Yep.

Tbh its so cheap to go 'pro' with photobucket I don't see why not. Its an easy to use website and its reliable as hell thats why I stick with it. If you prefer something else then use that but I just stick with photobucket cause its easy and reliable!
