so read on if your thinking off a 20v 1.8t conversion

hello people

iv purchased a lovely 54k seat ibiza cupra R 1.8t engine, box, loom, clocks, keys, ecu, subframe, drive shafts. well basicly the whole front end and anything else needed

its going into my very loved p20hot and i know everyone hates my polo but i hold my middle finger up proudly!

my aim to this discussion is to over the months build up a guild to installing the engine into the 6n polo so that anyone who want to take on the task has a idea on what to do and what to get parts wise and cost

i know there are people who have done these conversions and everyones is different in parts used, so who ever has done this conversion can add to this would be well appreciated

so far iv got the 18" konig image rims with lovely yoko tyres on them all for £450

the seat ibiza cupra r lump, box, loom, ecu, intercooler, air box, gearbox and theres abit more all for £500

golf 1.8t gear box mount £25

this way my polo before and now

now with my cheep b&q cordless angle grinder I'm off out to cut out as many engine mount that these 20v and 20v turbo engines go into

ALSO IF ANYONE HAS A SUBFRAME OFF A LUPO 1.6 GTI 6 SPEED I NEED ONE OR IF THERE DONE A GTI 6N2 6 SPEED THAT EITHER

ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT OTHER HUBS FIT ONTO A POLO 6N OR 6N2 GTI, WISH BONE AND SUSPENSION LEG?

ALSO DOES ANYONE HAVE A BORA 6 SPEED TDI BOX OR A 6 SPEED BOX THEY KNOW WILL FIT A 20V 1.8T?

This is actually the wrong section.

The picture section is the correct place for it. Unless you join the club and start a blog which is perfect for build threads / guides.

why cant it ever be straight forward anyway found out the newer shape ibiza after the first 20v 1.8t, has the same four front brackets so I'm having these chassis legs cut off for tomorrow for £25

also bought a rover 620ti intercooler for £20 as its all alu and is rated too over 250bhp on a 2L engine that can run a garrett gt28 turbo.

I'm also looking into a charge cooler and a super charger

That's why it'll need to conversion you see

Going to loose a lot of acceleration potential with such 'blingin' rims' mate It'd be sad for it to not be as mental as possible! haha.

I commend you for all this...the work your doing is top notch.

BUT i am certainly disgusted by the fact 18's are going on a polo!!!! That will look just plain daft(shoppin trolley with viper stripes), you will lose acceleration performance, your clocks will be SERIOUSLY mis-reading and the handling will be shite!! If your wanting her to perform, then put on the right size of wheels!!!!

Do whatever you feel like imo. Be different just for having 18s. Total thumbs up for all the hard work. I may be doing tis eventually to my girlfriends 6n when she gets bored of the weedy 1.0l lump!

if your going to do that, 18's are too small imo. You want 19/20" ers go proper cali/modern American style riding high off the ground

why are you getting chassis legs cut off? this is something i've been looking into alot for quite a while now and the main problem that seems to crop up everytime is the wiring!

Word to the 18's though!... Definately the downfall of this whole thing mate seriously :(

If it was all show and no go then fair enough the wheel size would matter..BUT your going to all this trouble with all this work and money to build a shit hot performance car that is just gona under-perform because its wheels just arn't right

Why put 14's on a lambo?... Why put 18's on a polo?

well i dont like and never have anything thats euro look! i f**king hate these stupid 14" wheels! fair play to the mk1 golf gti's on the 15" pirelli alloys there an original option that at the time when it was new, same with the bbs body kit and wheels.

but for f**k sake the euro is s**t! your cars are too low the look stupid with big arches and naf small wheels that cost stupid! stupid! money, id rather cut my wristes then have 13, 14, 15" on my ride!
