Mk2 Gt Oldskool Openair Bready Project!

Featured Replies

Just thought id let u guys in on a little project that has bin going, and also to thank the bestest guys ever for helping me out and doing the biggest part of the project toooooo!!

To start, i had a 1ltr manual choke B reg breadvan, in mars red... was pink wen i got it. I've had it for almost 4 years now, is my first car and have loved every min of it.. but now I'm more experienced at driving and have a need for 5 gears... i decided to buy a write off gt from our very own tom17.

Here it is

gt001.jpg

It was sat down the road in some old ladies drive for a few months, then she moved out and since then it has bin sat in my back garden, until one thursday i had a very very lovely clubpoloer turn up. The friday morning when i came home from uni, i found the gt engine already out and the mk3 was looking rather bare....

I will post all the pics so far and comment a bit on wots happening in them:

oh and this small vid too

The engine has to come back out again coz my dad has to weld in a section of the bay from the mk3 to hold the servo, it is much needed as it just didnt want to stop lol

Also I'm gunna fit the front suspension from the mk3 and the dash, it is in but i havnt got a pic as yet, wanted it to be in all fitted coz the clocks n stuff are all hanging out still lol

And... while the engine is still out i will fit the g40 inlet manifold that i swapped for my gt wheels!!! chers for that Dave :-D

Massive massive thanks to Rich n Phil, this never would have happened if it wasnt for u 2.... and Rich for coming down the whole wknd and Phil for coming back tuesday to finish all the wiring off.... think Phil was chuft for all the effort after he took it down the road!!!! hahahaha

Will update as soon as I've got rid of some more cars :-D :-D

what did he get in return? a compilation mix cd?

what a sweet sight to come back to after uni, loads of people hard at work when youve down nowt :ninja:, did you get stuck in as much as you could when you got back and learnt stuff along the way?

i wish i had the balls and the equipment to swap engines, well even if i coudl do that i wouldnt have the knowhow to get it all working again, its the splicing the looms that scare meeeee and just car leccy looms in general

Oohh this explains the 'new heart' =]! Looks good! Gonna be able to keep up now?
