only 1 day without sleep :-D

woooooooooooooo!!!

currently a 1.1 engine, requires a 4 pin carb, or 2 pin manifold to run then it needs taxing and mot...

currently lowered on brand new jamex 70mm lowering shocks and springs, its awaiting collection which I'm hoping to do in the next couple of weeks... plans are to move most of the stuff over from my other mk1 golf onto this and sell beena seperatly...

considering options whether to simply leave the original engine in, get a gt conversion or just get the engine mount rewelded and stick beenas prepped engine in!

the colour aint lido green some sort of pastel, car was an absolute steal but has 2 owners bar me and only covered 66k waxoiled and undersealed from new.

Date of First Registration 18 09 1980

Year of Manufacture 1980

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1093CC

adz i think the mirrors are standard, the gti had the flag mirrors which were chunkier, these may be mk1 polo mirrors as they are dead thin, or could be cos this is a pov spec golf it was lashed out with em

rofl @ tim, any car registered past 1984 has to be something special not be branded a turd with an engine and wheels on... unfortunately the 6n isn't anything special lol.

and of course it looks shit up there, and trust me its going to look ever shitter when I've finished with it, but i think the grand master plan shall be edtion 38 me and leeroy are gonna shit on the cars and smear say no to scene tax on em hahaha

and i paid less for this than you did for your wheels ;)

your not the girlie mk1 who happens to be putting a 20 vt in her golf? I've got two other pics at the moment, just waiting for a free weekend to go collect as I'm inundated with uni work this weekend :(

it was rocking brand new ats classics and a scirroco leather interior front and back but i asked for that to be removed as i didnt want to pay a premium for the bits although it wasnt a premium at all, he was practically giving it the extra bits away i just couldnt afford the extra reddies

*scratches head* what pic thats my car

edit: oh doh just seen it hahahahaa

yeh i remember reading about your 20vt project on vw mk1 owners club mate, rather impressed to say the least, i was planning on a g60 or 20vt conversion for my original mk1 gti but ended up sticking with tuning up an 8v engine as if the cam belt snaps nothing breaks as they are non interference engines and plus i just wanted to get to learn more about the basics of cars before i went into playing about with forced induction (reason i sold my g40 and bought two mk1s with the money haha)

so how you gettin on with yours then?

we'll deffo need to get a pic with yours, mine, leeroys and a couple of others (joey/golf_gt) together for piccies at the show... green mk1s been the way forward :D

edit: lido green mmm proper rare colour that, thats 2 lidos i know of now, word

lol slippy from ed38 is my car twin, His is lido green, a 1.1, same year and everything i think. (need to meet that guy lol)

green mk1's are the best. I was going to 4wd my mk1 using haldex from a tt but i decided against it so i'm just going rwd now ;)

yeh I've spoken to slippy a couple of times on e38 hes sound as food, his car looks proper nice on the bbs in his sig, not sure what wheels hes rockin on em now...

did he used to have msws with black detailing? or possibly mims.

so what brought you to clubpolo you after a wee runaround?

and all your bits about 4wd and rwd has gone over my head haha, can you not use a syncro drivetrain with some bodgineering, and would using a haldex require a space frame or anything silly? how the hell are you gonna do rwd. I'm intrigued...

my mate in northampton who does old skool landie v8 conversions is buildin a rwd busa turbo mini at the minute and is expecting nothing but donuts from the poor beast :(

Yeh, space framing it was going to be the main idea but then i decided against it, it'd be more fun without all the weight of the running gear.

i was looking for a polo but just bought an Ibiza diesel to get me to work and back (Awesome in Irlam) only gonna lower that and get some different wheels and that'll be it for the ibiza.

oh yeh, how the hell i'm going to do rwd is a secret lol

not sure what Slippy has been up to recently, i've not spoken to him for a while.

aye nae point spending money on a work horse and diesels cost fubarrin pennies to run bar tax. I've been to awesome a few times but dont tend to buy stuff from there, bit rich for my wallet like, although i did collect an race specced 8v engine from awesome that was a customers old one which i broke and they sorted me out some goodies for a rebuild which was sound as fook, the engine got broke in parts to help some other cars live.

a friend put the head and cam into a rocco mk2, ran nitrous threw it and blew it up round yorkshire haha said it spat a conrod out the side of thier block oops

are you a techie at awesome?

nope, i wish i was, not allowed to do that anymore though, the doctor said so :( i'm the parts manager for them now. :)

How clean is that for it's year, great colour too 8-) and no arch trims to hide the rot :-)

I'm not surprised it cost less than my wheels (Which set?), No offence to you or anything they're just not my cuppa tea in that state, get it gleaming with some pimp wheels and clean retro interior and I'll love it.
